Poland 2015 Season Extraleague News

Recommended Posts

This is the thread to post news of confirmed signings and other news throughout the winter. Certainly we know that Czestochowa and Gdansk have been thrown out by the authorities because of their financial situation and will have to start again in div 2 under new set-ups.(very sad about Czestochowa-my opinion-what a great race-track).
Rzeszow have been promoted back to the Extraleague, and the league are looking at who else could take the step up to restore the top league to 8 teams-maybe Grudziadz.
Over the last few days several articles have appeared in the polish press about the clubs offering lower wage contracts in 2015-certainly Torun and Tarnow are 2 of the teams.

Good info as usual Racers and Royals keep it coming, still annoyed that the play off at Lodz didn't take place this week end purely for the reason I was stopping in Lodz the Sunday night after the GP.

CANNOT see the new owners of Torun stomaching the sort of wage bill sanctioned by the previous owners. Gollob, Holder, Miedzinski, Sayfutdinov and Ward don't exactly come cheap.Word in Torun last weekend was that one rider's demands for a 400,000 euros signing on fee was declined.

Was told that Tomasz Gollob wants to do another season but surely not at Torun where he was not popular (because of his previous Bydgoszcz connections) and his poor scoring for most of the season. Was talk of a return to Gorzow but they fared pretty well without him this season.

Will Ward figure in Torun's plans? Both Torun and Poole for that matter will doubtless be sceptical about a rider whose immediate future is still unknown.

Perhaps a parallel thread for gossip hearsay and uninformed tongue wagging is needed for posts like the last one?

Out of respect for the theme of this thread I'll hold on to my hearsay about a prominent rider and his possible destination next year.

Don't hold your breath...

In fact, don't hold your breath about Rzeszow even being in the Ekstaliga.

And whilst on this subject, can someone please tell the people at Google Translate not to translate Martha Półtorak's name, and just to leave it as it is please?...it's a bit, erm, not very nice to see isn't it?

"We say that we want to reduce the ridiculous wages speedway."

In a nutshell from the gorgeous Martha.

We shall see. Regards. Alan.
