Odds On
Definitely not a poor meeting, a few less good heats in the first two rounds but overall a very good meeting. Plenty of good racing but haters gonna hate. and you wonder why promoters and tracks are struggling?...last night was a common meeting for speedway, if the converted think it was a good meeting then there in lies the problem with speedway as we know it....todays speedway is not going to survive the test of time, it is boring, it is outdated, take a look at the entertainment on the track, its poor, take a look at the facilities, in general its poor. Go to the likes of Pboro, standing on the back straight with no cover and on grass, go to Rye House, if you don't wreck your car in the car park you are lucky etc. The average cost for speedway is shall we say £15, that works out at a £1 per minute of entertainment, yet if you take a look at most if not all updates it takes the track time to settle for some racing, that not acceptable... . Its about time the promoters, riders and hard core fans of speedway realised that the sport is just about fekked, ask the promoters at the likes of Scunthorpe, Berwick etc what they think, do you think if they were making money they would be in the situation they are? There's no straight forward answer but the sport needs to make the action entertaining, if you don't have a good product then you have no chance of selling the product.
BWitcher
Do you think Tai needs to check his workshop to see if any engines are missing? You're right and I thought Tai's bikes looked crazy quick at times, but Emil's yesterday would have blown those away. Are you sure?. A number of great riders never won a world title...Igor Plechanov for one. Yeah because he's always in the discussions about the great riders. Always seeing folks listing Mauger, Briggs, Fundin and Plechanov...
customhouseregular
But don't you think without the wc there will be something missing in his career.I'm sure in years to come he will look back and regret his decision I have no doubt which is why he needs to get back in to the GP's toot sweet. iris123
No reason have been announced. Don't know why thetrack isn't as good as it usually is. They(Egon and Norbert)stated on German Eurosport that Gollob is refusing to take part in meetings where Nicki P is riding!!!!!! Is there really any truth in that? Is there really any truth in that? If true, then that's childish but Gollob will be the only one missing out. I would rather watch Nicki.

Ghostwalker
They(Egon anrbert)stated on German Eurosport that Gollob is refusing to take part in meetings where Nicki P is riding!!!!!! Is there really any truth in that? I have also seen claims that he didnt want to ride because he wanted to rest his back for todays Polish league meeting. Had he withdrawn before he had signed in, he wouldnt have been allowed to ride in Poland today. Since the SEC is an official FIM(-Europe) championship, any rider who have entered it or it's qualifiers cannot just fail to show or pull out to ride somewhere else. If they would, they would automatically receive a ban for the day after the meeting they pulled out from. We saw this happened to several Russian riders when they didn't show up for the SWC race off. DutchGrasstrack
What GW said is correct. Same case with Howarth who dropped out of the Lublin U21 round saying he is 'injured' and then wanted to race in the UK on the day after.
