Workington V Berwick Border Trophy 2nd Leg 12/10/14 19:30 Hrs

Recommended Posts

shows just how little you know the track base at workington drains away too much during the dry periods allready thats why even after watering the track drys out during a meeting

the problem last night was the fact that during 2 days in the week we had more rain than we had in over a month previous resulting in flooded areas which untill the flooded areas drain away then all the other water trapped in the surounding ground starts to drain away

amd also as you were not there maybe keep your opinions less public there were plenty there and i was one of them the blame looks to stand more with berwick than anyone at workington speedway and thats everyone riders track staff and certanly the promotion

Here here , Berwick weren't even going to give it a go, Kus the wus set the rot , funny how Ricky managed and kept the same time as the previous week, as the Ref stated , riders had had chance earlier to complain about the track but nothing said. Dave Hoggart had said after heat 1 after the first discussion that a couple of races and a bit of track work . , it could have been okay. I know riders safety is paramount but I wonder what the situation would have been had Berwick been on the end of 1-5 in heat 2........ Mmmm .

Riders on both sides were equally unhappy about conditions and anyone on here claiming otherwise is speaking without knowledge or authority.

The referee accepted advice from both sides and the home promotion before pulling the plug. Craig is an experienced FIM official who runs GP meetings and the like.

Whatever (freak weather, inconsistent materials, whatever) has created the conditions which have cost Workington (and Rusty Harrison) so dearly of late, trying to put the blame on Berwick's riders is nonsense.

Edinburgh are coming next week. Stand by!

Promotions really need to take a look at the way they run their business, the fans are just treated with contempt in these situations,it's getting to the stage even on a good day weather wise you can't be confident your going to get a meeting and there is a possibility you might not get 15heats these days. Its not good enough.Happens far to often in recent seasons.

Oh I see, the usual old Comets bollox, you weren't there so your opinion doesn't count, do you apply that also to the "Berwick fan's" posting here as well?

In the original post I clearly stated that my opinion on events was based on comment made by people who "were" there, and, tho not stated, on previous experience of watching part completed matches, it was merely a "suggestion" nothing lasts forever and there is nothing to suggest that some form of remedial work would not be of benefit, after all you state yourself that "flooded areas" are caused by "trapped water" in surrounding areas so, in your haste to try and belittle me you have agreed quite clearly and by your own admission, that the track is affected/compromised by heavy rainfall so improved drainage would be of benefit?

It's far easier to control how much water you put down before/during a meeting, that's a given, heavy rain is another so there is nothing stopping a little "man made" help to nature being provided is there? :)

I get grief when I say that on here!!

I'm used to it

Really, is there any point in this now?

It's freezing cold, damp and miserable. Bearable in March, as it's a new season and most people are full of optimism, but in late October after a season that promised much and delivered little?

Spot on. I am all for completing all the fixtures but there must be a limit, surely.
