Aces 2015

Idiotic comment. If u bothered attending any meetings u wud see that Zagar is the best number 1, bar Crump, that we have had in 10+ years.

What do u mean by part time?? Barely missed a meeting for us in 2 years & yes he missed a few heat 15's last year but they were usually meetings out of reach of us winning so it was hardly critical. I would rather he rode in heat 15 yes & think he will do a lot more this year as Lemon isn't a soft touch like other managers we have had.

Would I prefer Hancock as our Number 1, or Emil, or Nicki P, or Tai?? Of course I would but they don't ride over here so we have got the best available.

Remember this guy is the world number 5 & have a look at last years averages as not many riders above him at all.

Some people really don't have a clue!!

Sadly I am not well enough to attend any speedway meetings now, but if I was able to get there I would be quite upset at being short-changed. ;)

However, each to his own I suppose.

No, he's talking about the real biggest club not some temporary pretender.

In the 70s and early 80s, Liverpool were probably the biggest, most successful football team in the UK. Those days are long since gone - although they have had a couple of "freak" results during that time. Sadly, their demise mirrors that of Belle Vue in speedway and cannot be considered serious contenders. Let's hope Belle Vue do rise again and don't have to wait as long as Swindon had to to win the league again or even put together a competitive team.

I was joking. It is nice and something of which to be proud, to have the sort if historical record that Belle Vue has achieved. I should also point out that it was not just in the 70,s and 80's, like that football club you mentioned. Historically, Belle Vue is the most successful club in the history of the sport.

However, history is exactly that. What is more important is the here and now and in those terms we are one of the also rans.

Hopefully, we are about to start a new era and with the new stadium, increased finances and proper practice and training facilities the opportunity will be there to become more successful.

Just as in the 2000s Poole were probably the most sucessful speedway team in the UK.

But despite their period of success Liverpool trail a long way behind Manchester United as the all-time greatest football club, just as Poole trail behind Belle Vue in a Speedway equivalent.

When I first started watching speedway Poole were not even in the top division so I don't see them as the biggest at all. For me it's Belle Vue, Coventry and Wolves, they are the only ones that have been consistently in the top league since I've been watching the sport.

They were the most successful in that period yes, but they weren't the biggest club, Man Utd had the highest averages attendances during both the 70's and the 80's.

Surprised after making Worrall an asset and two years experience in the Elite League they look like letting him go as Aces can no longer fit in Cook and Worrall.

Cook returning leaves 5.02 or Worrall returning leaves 5.70. A new 5.00 or Max Fricke with Cook ? or someone like Kim Nilsson or Timo Lahti with Worrall.

Would Cook or Fricke move up full time as you can only have two riders doubling up. Stead had a great season in 2014 but that was as a second string and as a heat leader he gets tested more.

Cook and a 5.00 rider would be best in my opinion and that leaves Worrall free to join Wolves or someone else who don't have many doubling up riders. Y

Not sure if Cook would be a good move, barely better than an FTR away from Belle Vue in 2014 and missed a lot of fixtures as well. A rider who can be consistent home and away would be a better bet in my view - who knows what they'll decide.

Using that criteria, Wolves are relative newcomers to the top division, Coventry have a good pedigree but they did start after WW11 as a team in the lower division which Belle Vue supplied with riders. Belle Vue are the only team remaining who have always been in the top division. But as I said, it is where they are today that is the most important factor.

The only valid comparison between Cook and FTR riders is that quite a few of them have been riding for longer than he has. His poor scores away last year were the result of riding against heat leaders not second strings and FTR riders.
