Bradford Ace
Sorry to see that the Aces have signed a part-time number 1 again. Do we never learn Idiotic comment. If u bothered attending any meetings u wud see that Zagar is the best number 1, bar Crump, that we have had in 10+ years. What do u mean by part time?? Barely missed a meeting for us in 2 years & yes he missed a few heat 15's last year but they were usually meetings out of reach of us winning so it was hardly critical. I would rather he rode in heat 15 yes & think he will do a lot more this year as Lemon isn't a soft touch like other managers we have had. Would I prefer Hancock as our Number 1, or Emil, or Nicki P, or Tai?? Of course I would but they don't ride over here so we have got the best available. Remember this guy is the world number 5 & have a look at last years averages as not many riders above him at all. Some people really don't have a clue!!

Phil The Ace
Well said. Think he hardly missed a meeting! Only missed 1 meeting I think. #burstpipegate And shown up for ELRC late year Part time is what he isn't.

I thought that was the case. What a silly comment to make in the first place about Zagar.
Rob B
Belle Vue signed Simon Stead
Phil The Ace
Stead signs as 3rd heat leader. If cook and fricke follow which looks like then that's basis of a good team
Woz01
Solid signing. Will probably alternate the 3rd heat leader role with Cook if he signs. Looks a good line up if Cook and Fricke sign.
Phil The Ace
Yeh if the rumour of cook and fricke finishing the team is true then we will have a good team. It's not a spectacular team. It won't be the best team on paper once all teams are filled but it's certainly a very solid team that should hold its own. Stead is well liked at belle vue and should kick on. Last year was his first full season for a long time so hope he can improve even more. It's a shame he will miss a few meetings but that's the league structure for you The best way of looking at it is Stead for worrall which is better If fricke signs for toft which is better S worrall for payne. So very much an improvement
Aces51
Pleased to see Simon back. Overall, he had a good year last year and there should be healthy competition between him and Cook, assuming he is going to return, for third heat leader. I'll be sorry if there is no place for Richie Worrall but there's lots more to come from him and experience at another track will benefit him in the long run. foreverblue
i don't think Stead is a great signing but i hope he has a solid injury free season, if Cook signs then it is a solid team.

B.V 72
At the momment i am not to sure if Stead is a good signing or not.All depends on who we sign next.If its Cookie then i will be happy i think that they will push each other for the third heat leader spot and which ever one it is we will have a strong second string. Col
Don't think having two DUers in the engine room would be a good move, after signing Stead unless Cook doesn't ride PL next year, I can't see Cook returning to Belle Vue. Phil The Ace
I hate d/u myself but with riders like Josh G and king we should be able to get decent guests when they are missing

I would go for Cook and Michelsen.

JamieE
Pleased to see Steady deservedly fixed up with an EL team, thought his high average might cause him problems getting a team place for 2015. The Aces look like having the basis of a decent team.
SCB
Might not increase his average (or maintain it) but in a league where some teams are going to be under the limit this is a good signing as it'll keep Cook down as a second string for a while. B.V 72
Just looking at Steads away scores he did very well last season be it from riding as a second string so a bonus for us seeing as we were so bad on the road last season.Much better than another name mentioned as a possible signing D Watt althoughhe was in a heat leader position. In fact his second worst away scores were at Belle vue his worst were at Poole. Wolves 14 16+1 Swindon n/s n/s Poole 4 n/s lakeside 8+1 6+1 Kings Lynn 9 11+1 Coventry n/s 11 Belle vue 6 1 withdrawn. Eastbourne 4 6 Leicester did not ride at Birmingham. ps can't you tell i'm off on the sick lol Edited December 5, 2014 by B.V 72
acef
Looking at it again, it will probably take 10-15 meetings for cook to get up to 3rd HL and he will have to score very well to do so. He may actually be longer there than I first thought. Cook as a 2nd string will be very strong actually. It's not the team I wanted, but I have seen us put worse teams together down the years. We won't win anything, but we shouldn't finish bottom either. Think it will be Zagar Fricke Stead Cook Nicholls Worrall Nielsen It's not a bad team, it is certainly stronger than last year and with Fricke doing full time EL he has to make it work. I rate him very highly and I think if anyone moves to 3rd HL it will be him by the end of the season.
