Starman2006
There's posters of here, going on about the amount of rain that fell, but I've seen nothing on the tele about flooded roads in Poole/Dorset or properties under water, so one can only assume everyone else has managed to cope with the rain. Torrential may be, but nothing more that most people can deal with. The biggest problem here is that Poole's track is of bad design, with little or no drainage. Having to rely totally on the weather to run meetings is bad philosophy . We have heard so much from people praising Matt Ford as this wonderful promoter, but this situation has shown him up to be, not as good as those people try to paint...... I believe the BSPA should award this semi- final to Poole to put and end to the ridiculous shenanigans. At least it will save them all the excuses of getting their track sorted, and do away with all the bragging rights they believe is totally theirs.... Yet another knowledgeable poster who clearly does not live in poole.. And as for your final paragrapgh, yep good idea. After all, we did top the table and won by a point at your place. Have a nice Winter.. Edited October 14, 2014 by Starman2006
BluPanther
As has already been reported/posted (but ignored by those that wish to continue stirring), the hole down to the base occurred approx. 2-3 hours before the scheduled race time, which is why it could not satisfactorily be repaired to the riders agreement, despite serious and continued attempts to pack it with the materials available at that time.. The hole in the base has since been repaired during the continued wet weather and was repaired in time for the Thursday rearranged date, which was again rained off! The other issue that the Poole track has to deal with is its close proximity to the sea!!.. The water table is very high in the surrounding area compared to the level of the stadium. This means it takes longer to disperse excess water especially during persistant and heavy rainfall. Not saying that Poole is unique in this respect but it is by no means ideal compared to some other tracks. But clearly not exclusively!! All links golf courses by the sea are rarely wet, they naturally drain very quickly due to the sandy nature of the soil. It is much more likely to be the high water table in the surrounding area, that would affect drainage for sure..

stevebrum
The jealousy train rumbles on with Gavan the Dick and Brum the Jerk at the controls ! Jealous of what precisely? A track team that cause errors to a track that causes a meeting to be called off. Yea really jealous of that.
theknow 2
End of the day meeting was off due to the weather. Yes it rains quite a bit in the UK and meetings are off. Get over it and move on
hornblower
SteveBrum, you tell us what your problem is. Whatever Poole Speedway do you are either critical or running them down. Is it because they are the most successful speedway team in the country. Who do you actually support ?

Is it because they are the most successful speedway team in the country. Who do you actually support ? backstep a bit mate. when there is any 'controversy' in our sport Poole are at the centre of it. don't run the jealousy line because quite frankly its boring. the thing is certain Poole fans are just paranoid that everything is a criticism when merely its an observation. so rather then answer the questions they go defensive by either name calling or accusing us of being anti poole. the thing is when we praise Poole nobody comments. I said Poole this year are champions as I don't like the play off system and find it hard how a team that can be clearly 3rd or 4th best should be called champions. I acknowledged Poole were the best team on many posts but funnily enough its not picked up on. At the start of the season my 'opinion was Janowski would let Poole down. An opinion I got blasted for by the usual mob but yet some agreed with me. Janowski has been superb all season and in many posts I said I got it wrong ate humble pie etc. Again was that mentioned no. So when im critical of some of the stunts Poole have pulled I don't need the 2 or 3 complete numptys who call themselves speedway fans to start judging. The reason why Poole threads are so long is because most of the talking points in the sport revolve around Poole. With all respect to Leicester for example not a lot to discuss there

That will liven things up a bit.

With all respect to Leicester for example not a lot to discuss there This problem could have been sorted last week very simply if the Speedway Control Board had an ounce of backbone . Poole have had more than enough chances to get the meeting on but no one in authority has the guts to upset Matt Ford .You Poole fans who keep sniping and name calling other posters for their comments need to look back over the last few years at different controversial things that have gone on and you will find the main name that keeps cropping up is Poole ..Your promoter seems incapable of running a team on what most other promotions deem a level playing field .IF THE TIE IS NOT RUN THURSDAY THE SCB SHOULD REMOVE POOLE FROM THE COMPETITION AND AWARD A TWO MEETING FINAL BETWEEN KINGS LYNN AND COVENTRY
uk_martin
It rained in Lynn and it rained in Swindon. Neither managed to dig a hole in their track Don't mention Belle Vue in 2013

Don't mention Belle Vue in 2013 No we won't mention BV 2013, you ever heard of rider safety, or doesn't that cross your mind. Nah, must be a poole thing. The point was that when Poole needed a 4 point away win, the speedway establishment went through hell and high water (literally) to ensure that the meeting went ahead and wasn't abandoned until Poole had enough of a lead and that the result would stick. NOW that Poole have been vulnerable with injuries to their riders and would face a second leg at a disadvantage, all the excuses are being trotted out for why the meeting isn't going ahead.
Gemini
Question why is Coventry leg of the Final on Friday as all previous Finals have been on alternate Mondays. Probably the most sensible thing to happen now Sky don't have so much involvement. Friday is our race night and will ensure a good attendance. Whether it will actually go ahead tomorrow though is anyones guess. Edited October 16, 2014 by Gemini
