markyb
reckon already set up for Poole to win the 2014 Elite league speedway title Goal posts moved yet again to accommodate those who can (allegedly) provide back handers to ensure the "mighty" Dorset cliche achieve their aim. speedway by definition is, a summer sport, yet we in the Uk go through the month of July almost without any action whatsoever and endure this same rubbishe in October that we we always have to. What happens if the weather keep playing up during October and November - we could end up with a semi final on Christmas Day with a 2014 champion established on New Year's Eve ! To may mind, Poole should have lost their semi final 75 - 0 - okay through non-participation, but at least provides an outcome and tough of them - maybe next time they run the "home" meeting first. It alleges in some circles that this a professional sport - what an absolute joke ! Come on - shoot me down in flames - I'm expecting it happy days

mdmc82
If cant get the semi leg ran then there is only one team already in the final and it ain't Poole On a serious note I agree that Poole have already had 2 chances to host it, In poland it would have been declared a walkover if they had been unable to find another date before Monday to stage it Edited October 9, 2014 by mdmc82
Grachan
Or maybe it just happened to rain so it had to be restaged. I'm sure the play off final has been put back a week before now due to bad weather. If you anti Poole lot want to be taken seriously you really need to stick to genuine cases of bad sportmanship rather than just making stuff up all the time.

Red Panda
The only deadline there is is that all matches have to be completed by 31/10 as has always been..........Poole are not moving any goalposts.........Sky are the ones that are trying to move the goalposts by forcing them to run on an unsafe track...........the reasons for what happened Monday and why have been given and was not a deliberate act...........the riders did not want to race........the ref backed the riders as did both sets of management..........to put covers on an already wet track would have made little or no difference to whether tonight went ahead or not.........there are only one set of BSPA approved covers and they were at Swindon on Monday.......not that it did them a lot of good the track was appalling............and today was called off due to torrential rain which went on for most of the afternoon...........I was in Poole earlier today and got caught in several of the downpours.............just accept it and move on........... As for forfeiting it that is ridiculous...........if it was your team would you be happy to accept that..........I doubt it........... Safety comes first............it was clear after the downpour (we are talking sheets of rain not just a shower or two) at about 2 pm it would be unlikely to go ahead.......... Some people need to look at their own teams inadequacies before casting aspersions on others......... RP

hrhbig
Never realised before, how many track preparation experts there are in this country, makes me wonder why ANY meeting is called off due to a waterlogged track, just get some of them along and they will make it safe and raceable, in minutes, easy peasy.

Have I touched a nerve. - what a shame ! Had Coventry not got in their meetings before cut off and not made the play-offs can't imagine that Mr high almighty Matt Ford would have allowed leniency - of course not. As to me being anti-Poole - holy moly of course I am ! would be great to see Middledich and Ford perform on a level playing field - no chance of that unfortunately. A word of caution however for Mr Ford - might be worth you arranging to sell back unused fireworks to you supplier later in the month - or even sooner if and when Kings Lynn come to town. Had to run a meeting after the deadline. Them points didnt count. If they had needed them 3 points to make the play-offs would the deadline have been delayed a week? No. So why have Poole been given an extra week now?

Grachan
Tut tut ! Have I touched a nerve. - what a shame ! Not particularly. I'm not a Poole fan and in the past have strongly disagreed with things they have done. Just on this (and a few others) it all seems a bit silly.

mdmc82
Its not the weather thats just the problem, its the fact that Poole Didnt have tge correct equipment and made a big hole in their track that they are striggling to fix. It's been mentioned on Twitter that the fixture has to be fufilled by the end of next week so they are currently looking for a neutral track that the 2nd leg will be staged at if Poole are still unable to do so in a weeks time. dorset delight
Of course the weather was the problem on Monday if we had not had 8 + hours of rain beforehand the track would have not needed blading. How hard is that to understand As for yesterday there is not a track in the country that would got the meeting on,take a look at the pictures
Red Panda
Play off dates have been moved before and as long as all fixtures are fulfilled by 31 October as has been the case since the sport started I don't see why everyone has a problem with it............the final dates moving has nothing to do with Poole it has to do with the bad weather on both the days it should have been run...........is that so hard to understand??????????? Grow up and get a life...........you only have to look at how bad the Coventry track has been all season to know what bad track prep is all about............
