Only complaint I have re. the Star, Belle Vue results aren't as good as the olden days.

Look at the teams Belle Vue had in the olden days, not to mention the track!.

WENT out as usual by first class mail on Wednesday morning.

December 27 issue should arrive on Tuesday, December 23

January 3 issue on Tuesday, December 30

Any problems call 020-8335 1113

Cheers, I will give them a call on Monday.

The other week I went to hospital, waiting around for a couple of hours I was feeling slightly fed up and a little bit sorry for myself. I had stored up a few Stars in anticipation and read the Ricky Ashworth article. I realised I had nothing to complain about, a superb piece that brought a real reality check on speedway and life in general.

I bought the Star today for the first time in years, and it reminded me of that brilliant Gerry Rafferty song.

I thought that with all the controversy over the Poole semi and the Greaves / Sarjeant / Phillips fracas, they might have something to get their teeth into. Silly me !! Controversy, what controversy? Just a brief report that the Poole match was off and nothing on the outcome of the SCB investigation.

I remember now why I stopped my subscription years ago. They don't report anything, just dish out the BSPA line and keep their heads firmly in the sand.

Interesting that as soon as the F.I.M has gone through the testing and approval of a new silencer for next season the speedway star seem to think this is the time to print 4 pages to put the boot in, and tell us how dangerous the previous model was..The dangers of the previous silencers were apparent in the first year of use but the F.I.M decided to sit on their hands and do nothing for a further 3 years on the grounds of product exclusivity to certain suppliers. As one of the biggest issues in the sport, affecting the safety of riders, the worlds leading speedway magazine should have been all over this story like a dog with a bone, but for whatever reason ( probably not wanting to upset Armando and his cronies at the F.I.M ) we were devoid of any hard hitting editorial. Gutless !

So who was the silencer manufacturer that had product exclusivity?

Newsagents all over the country will be bracing themselves for the biggest rush since the post-shooting edition of Charlie Hebdo was published...and why?

Because next week's Super Speedway Star will contain in depth investigative reporting of "Brandongate".

It'll feature analysis, comment, interviews and opinions into what happened when SkySports played the role of South American dictators, came in and ran the show at Coventry. The topic that is causing more outrage amongst speedway fans than any other in recent times will be given exposure like no other, and a full investigation into what went wrong, and who was at fault will fill the pages like no story before it ever did.

And then I woke up...

Apparantly there is also a totally impartial view from Sepp Blatter, who refused any payment for the interview - insisting instead that a sizeable donation be made to his charity for ailing sports administrators - Blatter, Blatter, Blatter & Sons, The Cayman Isles!! :nono:
