Humphrey Appleby
DOUBT whether they ever felt they would fill it. But, as usual, will bow to your superior knowledge and that the people at the Etihad don't know what they are talking about. And you don't think the stadium owners might be bigging it up in any way at all? As it happens, I don't think trying out the Ethiad is a bad development and I'd have probably gone myself if I wasn't back in Europe in October. However, I think if they get 25,000 (paying) they'll be doing well. Edited September 18, 2015 by Humphrey Appleby
waiheke1
Any idea what crowd is needed to break even? Given that bill Buckley lost decent money on a 14k turn out in Auckland, surely they must be aiming to double that in Melbourne?
Undercover Elephant
Cant wait for this , weather here in Melbourne has started heating up a bit lately so in a month or so it should be decent enough. Any BSF forum members heading over to The worlds best city for it? Booked and ready to take Melbourne by storm (and I don't mean the NRL!) Staying at the Crowne for a few days and the warmer weather I hear is coming
DutchGrasstrack
There's actually a third set of times as well, for Torun I think its 1900 and 1914. Many others are as I said with -12 and +4 (not two like I said) which was introduced to all GP's for 2014. This way the tv starting at 1900 could cut straight to the first heat. Which I thought at the time being stupid. And still do. Torun this year is 1900 parade 1912 first heat.

oldace
Wonder if any of the riders secure between 4th and 8th after Torun will aggravate an old injury and have to pull out of the Aussie GP !!!!!!
SCB
Wonder if any of the riders secure between 4th and 8th after Torun will aggravate an old injury and have to pull out of the Aussie GP !!!!!! Or if KK will bother?!
oldace
Or if KK will bother?! Indeed KK is out with no hope of a wildcard. Harris is in next year anyway. THJ not a lot to race for but still young and may not want to blot his copybook. If Zagar and NKI get enough to secure next years place before then I expect their injuries to play up. This GP could have easily the most withdrawals of any GP ever. I would imagine to combat the risk there might be a decent bonus payment for this GP Edited September 21, 2015 by Oldace
RPNY
Really? Do you not think they will want to go and race in that stadium?

RPNY
I can't believe any rider would just not bother showing up.
ColinMills
for what kk is earning in gp"s and being his last, would he fly half way round the world to score around 3 pointless points??
Blazeaway
for what kk is earning in gp"s and being his last, would he fly half way round the world to score around 3 pointless points?? He could just treat it like a weekend away somewhere, just like he has with all the other GP's this year...

Ozrik
Good decision. I don't know how much influence MA have, but they always said the wc for the Aussie GP would go to the highest placed non GP rider from the Aussie title, and so it has. f-s-p
I don't know how much influence MA have, but they always said the wc for the Aussie GP would go to the highest placed non GP rider from the Aussie title, and so it has. Neither did MA when they sent out a letter to their riders that the highest place non GP rider from their championships would get it.
