mdmc82
I'd gladly have him in the side but not if we had to drop someone to fit him in. He won't be back next year wherever he goes and will probably ride to average below 7. But if he fits straight in, sure. Worth a go. Won't fit straight in so would mean losing Howarth or Zengi I still think Swindon will make the play offs so then the question is will Poole want Ward to go to a team they could face in it or to Lakeside, a track Ward has said he enjoys. I wouldn't bring him in if it meant losing either of those two. Both deserve their place and Darcy Ward has no loyalty to Swindon and has already said he'll be at Poole in 2016. Pawlicki was mentioned earlier. I'd rather go down that route and keep the rest of the top 5. Zengota would be the most likely to go. Why get rid of the rider who was our top scorer last week?

Swindon need away wins to get in the play offs & sadly Zengi is like an old Exeter rider where he is excellent at home but poor on his travels which makes him vulnerable. stevebrum
The 4 teams that had been suggested on various social media sites for a while were Lakeside, Swindon, Leicester & Wolves. As I mentioned previously, AJ is said to want to focus on abroad commitments. Leicester is rumoured to be the club he's ruled out. However who would he replace at Wolves? Think it's a 2 horse race between Swindon & Lakeside. (Lakeside could do a like for like swap or redeclare if for AJ) It's the same for any club that signs him. They will all have to make changes/drop riders. One thing we do know that is if it's Swindon that sign him the were deliberately lowering averages for it to work. SteveLyric2
If DW is to sign for Swindon then presumably AM must come back in to ride so that the side can be redeclared again with AM in it, so that he and one other can then be replaced?! The interesting point is when could the signing take place? Between June 28th and June 30th (ie on current averages) or on July 1st, when new averages kick in? If its before the 30th then presumably it will be AM and either Morris or Batch that will go as you can only have 2 x 7+pointers when redeclaring!? If its July 1st then it depends on what the new averages dictate ie will Batch (as has been suggested by some and refuted by others) be below 7 points by then?? Added to that (as Colin Pratt has referred to) is the further doubt as to exactly what average the BSPA/SCB will decree DW will be on?! If it is to be Lakeside - its a straight swap for Jonsson (who missed heat 15 last night 'cos he'd hurt his back!!!!!!?) I don't get this theory that Miedzinski needs to be re-declared for changes to be made. Surely Kildermand was a replacement for Miedzinski, but because it was a 28 day replacement or whatever rather than a permanent one then Miedzinski's average would be retained. Otherwise, if you bring in a short term replacement for an injured rider, then the injured rider can't come back in the side after 28 days if it puts the team over the points limit. SteveLyric2
If PK was a short-term replacement only, then the original rider can be reintroduced no matter what the team average at the time. (According to reports, PK had to be retained in last week's team, in order for Dak North to be used as a guest. At that time Swindon were not allowed to reintroduce AM in the 1-7 if he was still injured and unable to ride. The current 1-7 on BSPA website shows PK still in the team on 6.86). Even if changes are made with PK in the team, the team average is still 33.36 so they haven't got much room to manoeuvre. I think there will need to be some 'juggling' with averages and timings for the right signing(s) to be made. Crazy robin
Home performances do matter in getting casual fans to come back to watch again. Who would you bring in if we did replace him? I agree with that Graham but a play off semi final place is worth a lot of money & for that to happen we need to win away. It would be harsh on any rider apart from Troy to lose their place in the top 5 but if the club want Darcy or a n other then someone has to go. Unless that is they go for a Pawlicki signing which would help the top 5 be complete & stick Troy at No 1 because that is where he should be for me & not Nick. Much better option for me, unless we can pull off mircle and sign someone like Emil! No problem with Darcy if he fits, but not at the expense of Zengota. orion
unless ward is a swop for ardrain then there is little pont . i rather keep the other 4 riders in the main body and have pawlicki if he would come.
Speedy swindon pete
This is what I was alluding to a while back. Would rather the current 4 stayed and a "lesser heatleader" brought in in place of AM. They might be frustrating at times but the 4 we have at the moment are largely enjoyable to watch. Someone like Pawlicki would add to the fun, if he was here enough.
mdmc82
Even getting Ward the Robins will be weaker at Home. Zengi is a double figure rider around Blunsdon.A lot would depend who the replacement is for the rider they let go. Yes you would have a heat leader in ward but then would need a 4pt rider to replace Zengota Swindon need away wins to get in the play offs & sadly Zengi is like an old Exeter rider where he is excellent at home but poor on his travels which makes him vulnerable. He was very good at Poole for us and rides Brandon brilliantly Edited June 23, 2015 by mdmc82
Grachan
Would have to unless they drop Howarth for a 3 pointer. Swindon are already weak at reserve compared to other teams this season so to let a top top second string go that would be insane. I agree with this. A lot of reports from Swindon newspapers and websites seem t indicate that Swindon are going for it though. Hope not.

Surely they should have a system that helps prevent the use if guests. Doing it this way makes it a risk to sign a temporary replacement. Trees
So Batch did have efs on purpose then, the BSPA needs to think up a better way of team building ........ can't go on obviously duping the paying public .....
thecoombdog
Ward to Swindon it is then according to the Bournemouth Echo Not done yet according to total sport who are always spot on.
thecoombdog
Wouldn't worry Trees. Swindon will be a weaker side now that they have to let Howarth or Zengi go. Coventry will pick one of those up and drop Robson and then they will be unbeatable if Hans gets going. It's harsh as anything releasing Zengi or Howarth and neither deserves it. But if we don't sign Ward then there is no one out there for a straight swap with AM so it's unavoidable and a top 3 of Ward, Morris and Batch is not weaker IMO. Our problems at the moment are at reserve and if they don't get firing then it doesn't matter who the top 5 is because against teams like Cov and Poole we are going to be starting with at least a 10 point handicap each week.
