stevebrum
He has a lower average because he rode in a stringer team A team of stringers. Sounds a thread bare team to me.
Grachan
Kyle Howarth is NOT a Swindon asset. I don't get this obsession with Jason Doyle. He's a decent rider and I'd be okay with him in the side but I'd agree with SCB that he's not the best option and has a higher average than I'd want him on. Grachan
Who would you have if not Jason?.I preferred Kildermand and Bachelor last year and would rather have them back. Also there's talk of Chris Holder. Rather have him too. A real, proper number one. Hans Andersen. I think he brings more to a team than just his points. Doyle would be ok, but I don't really think he's a proven number one yet. Edited November 25, 2014 by grachan

Doyle's average suggests otherwise. He beat quality riders last season, has a high average when heat leaders averages are dropping and he qualified for the SGPs. What more do you want?

Can't see killer returning sadly & do you really want to wait until Darcy's hearing to see if we have a chance of Holder?. Doyley showed Killer & Troy a clean pair of heals many times last season & is a asset so if no Killer then I'd rather have Jason. Hans is a good option & looks like he might not be back at Coventry either.
Grachan
Doyle's average suggests otherwise. He beat quality riders last season, has a high average when heat leaders averages are dropping and he qualified for the SGPs. What more do you want? As I said, he's an option. I just don't think he's the best one. As has been said, if Doyle comes out in heats 5 and 15 and wins them he gets a 12 average. If Bachelor and Kildermand come out and get 2 5-1 wins, with Bachelor second in both. Bachelor gets an 8 average from the same standard. But Doyle is ok, although it would, for me, be a drop from Kildermand or Holder who would be worth the extra point on his average.

SCB
Well said. Doyle has proved beyond any doubt he is the better rider compared to Kildemand or Batchelor. Chris Harris is better than Freddie Lindgren then and you have signed Freddie on a 9 point average and we'll have Bomber on 7.5 Nobody has said Doyle didnt improve last year, I think we all agree he come on leaps and bounds (funny what being force out of the PL does for a rider!), he's a good rider but he didnt score many bonus points or finish behind his team mates very often thus has a slightly inflated average relative to others. As it is, I would still sign Doyle. I think he's a great rider. I've been saying so for years too, remember being laughed at on here for saying he'd achieve more in his career than Doyle - OK it's taken him a while to catch up with him but I think he'll do a better job in the GP series than Troy - and I don't think Troy will do a bad job tbf. No idea where you get that logic from. Doyle has had a better EL season than Batch, PK and Harris and has qualified of right for the GP`s. I always look at true averages as including bonus points also.

Not much in the way of backing evidence! Kildemand is still the rider id pay extra to come and watch tho.

I'd just like to see how he follows up last year first before coming to any conclusion about being better than Bachelor and Kildemand. Think he belongs there. However he had the chance to qualify and was probably the hot favourite. But he failed to do so.

Hans is a good option & looks like he might not be back at Coventry either. I think I read that Hans improved his average at Coventry. That said, the harsh reality in my opinion is that sadly he is on the decline and would be a huge risk as a number one. Sure, he's still a winner and at times as feisty as ever, but he gets beaten far too often by lesser riders nowadays. I would prefer Holder as our number one if available. Yes he is a Poole asset, but he would deliver home and away. He has stated he likes the Blunsdon track and would put a few on the attendance.
