Swindon 2015

Hope Darce is going to be ok..was a joy watching him in his 3 home appearances for The Robins this year, hundreds of extra fans attended Blunsdon because of his superb riding style, the crowd was buzzing again, probably be a morgue-like atmosphere for the next home match, his riding matched the excitement generated by ex- Robins legends Briggo and Adams, and to think he's topping the EL averages the only rider with a CMA over 10.00, an incredible 116+14 points in 50 rides, and 7 of his 10 meetings have been away!

Cant summon up the enthusiasm for the rest of the campaign at present, too many bad crashes this year.

If kildemand did replace ward he would be able to ride at 2 or 4. With morris batch and zengy on higher averages, or find someone just under his ave or guests leaving batch at 2 or 4! Still a really strong chance of champs imho. Lot depends how morris/zengy do in each meeting

Haydon watching Darcy this year what a treat it has been it really rekindled my enthusiasm for the sport total class.Funny thing is how many of us Robins fans treated Leigh Adams like part of the furniture took him for granted what an honour to see him everyweek a class act a class guy.In my lifetime i have been so lucky at Swindon to have seen Briggs,Ashby,Kilby,Broady,Crump(senior and son) Autrey,Adams,Darcy as for this year now i could not care less i just hope all the riders keep safe.

Agreed mate ^^ not interested in the rest of this season wont be attending tomorrow now. Only Darcy joining us rekindled my enthusiasm if im being truthful plus cant even stomach watching another speedway race at the moment especially until we get more positive news on his prognosis ...hope for the team we stay safe and that they can concentrate on there meetings ahead wherever or whoever they are riding for but for me im done with it i am sad to say.

Totally agree with you Sidney. He's been sensational. In his last 4 meetings for the Robins he was beaten by an opposing rider just once (Niels Kristian Iversen) and also bagged the Wolverhampton track record.

I'll admit that when there was talk of him signing I wasn't sure about it. Even though it meant having a good number one, I thought it might be cancelled out by losing points at the bottom end. What I hadn't taken into account was the sheer effect it had on the whole team.

In recent years I've been a bit of a casual fan, taking in maybe two or three meetings a year. With him in the team there was a magic about the side, which had me going to watch. I even went to Coventry on the Saturday, to see what turned out to be his final match.

The memory I will take from that match is seeing him gate with Aaron Summers. It was almost as though he pulled Aaron out of the gate with him. He was looking over at Aaron as they went to the first bend, slowed, and let him go ahead of him to follow him round for a 5-1. Tremendous ride.

How many meetings did Darcy have for us? I think it was 10. Is that enough to allow induction into the Legends Lounge before the season is out and the stadium closes? Would be a fitting tribute I think, bearing in mind it looks as though his career will have ended as a Robins rider.

Jason Doyle would be a logical guest for the Robins, can't think of many available riders better or more reliable than him..

Looking at the averages published ok to guest at home but too high to guest away, unless they use floating av and have no idea what that is.

Also have lost my appetite for the shale sport at the moment and unlikely will be going on Thursday like a few hundred others. Hope they win. Would be a fitting tribute if they won the title for Darce, he turned The Robins season around in just 10 meetings and 50 rides.

Can understand this to a point, it's how I felt originally, but think the lads need our support now more than ever....they are good friends of Darcy so think that packed terraces as opposed to empty ones will help them through. A time to come together rather than drift off.

Speedway needs the fans support, Im very sure that Darcy would want the fans to continue to support there club, you really do need to go along and support the club.

And im sure there would be some sort of anouncement re collections for Darcy.

We will be the same in the next week, fans have to continue to support the club, everybody knows what has happened its not nice at all, and everybody knows that Darcy will be well well looked after. But us the fans can do there bit by continuing to give there clubs support.

I would think that if they can persuade him to ride over here for the last couple of months Woffinden would be the one to go for - only downside might be that he hasn't seemed to go that well at The Abbey in the past.

Wolfie

He didn't go well anywhere the last time he rode for you.

Pk, is our best option, but if not, then guests would have to do.

Thoughts are with Darcy and hope the move to the UK goes well. Wishing him as full a recovery as possible for the next chapter in his life. Was always a pleasure watching such a talent on a speedway bike and always "box office" both on and off the track.

Its how I feel too. When RICO passed away I booked a day off work for the next meeting at Brandon. One main reason was to pay my respects but also to show that I appreciate what the riders do on a daily basis. The riders need our suport when things like this happen and I'm sure Darcy would want the support to continue attending.
