Swindon 2015

I don't understand the suggestion we'll be building way below the team average. If rumours are believed re: Howarth signing to go with Batch and Nick, killer at no1 would yes mean there's no way to build to the limit, but unfortunately killer's looking unlikely. If we can entice ward, holder or Nicki then we're actually limited with options for the last spot (Michelson would fit very nicely). If we bag an Emil or other assessed 8 then we've got 6.84 and that means Josh, Milik, Zengi, Dak, bartosz or watt all get us to within .3 ... Doesn't strike me as weak.

So basically a Poole reject team:-(

So you don't want riders who have won the league in the past two years? More fool you then. You'd be lucky to have them! Don't think Poole will be letting Milik or Holder go though.

No I don't thanks as no improvement in any of them from their advantage of knowing the Blue groove & pot holes of Wimborne Road.

Yeah but you are naming 4 riders who are totally unrealistic targets.

I'd agree that Watt wouldn't improve. Think Milik definitely would improve and Holder would increase his average! Ward possibly. But Ward's improvement is not the reason why others wouldn't want him!

Talk of Nicki Pedersen and Sayfudinov is pure fantasy.
Ward and Holder will be at Poole, Iversen, Bjerre and Schlein at King's Lynn and Doyle at Leicester.
That leaves Lakeside, Leicester and Wolves each needing a heatleader and we need two.
Take out the riders we know who aren't available, B Pedersen, Woffinden and Bridger. It is likely Kildemand won't be back either.
Now look at the riders available. There are only three with an average over 7, Janowski, Batchelor and Pawlicki - to go around five clubs and chances are Janowski won't ride for anyone other than Poole in the EL
There is no guarantee Batchelor will be back at Swindon. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Leicester don't get their chequebook out and sign him.
So either Swindon need to trawl the continent for the likes of Kasprazak, Lindback and Sundstrom or we'll struggle to get anywhere near the points limit.

You think you'll be signing Ward, Holder, Nicki or Emil? Bless. Ward will be back home in Oz serving a ban, Holder will replace him at Poole, Nicki and Emil have 0 interest in EL racing. Try Howarth, Batch, Nick, North and Milik - Scary rubbish eh? If you're a Swindon fan because what you have their is 4 second strings so they have inflated averages. And it's still 2 points under the limit.

Careful with your pie in the sky predictions for our team SCB. Will remind you of them later in the season.

I'm sure there were more than a few experts on this forum who would've said AJ had 0 interest in riding elite again, so I'll hold out hope we'll get more than the bargain basement team being gleefully wished upon us.

AJ was always coming back, it was hardly a shock to anyone who paid any attention - he said so himself in the speedway star the two times I read it last season, and I dont read the speedway star twice :D

What makes you think they're pie in the sky? What is pie in the sky is suggestions of Nicki and Emil :D Maybe Greg and KK will join them both in the robins team? :D

What is this fixation with building to the team points allowed. Last year Belle Vue and Wolves had the highest team points at the start of the season, and ended up 7th and 8th in the league. OK the FTR system screwed things up a bit but any team at the start of the season can get riders that will improve in the same way as a team built to the max can go off.

True, but last year proves you need a strong top end, the two teams with the strongest headleaders, Poole and King's Lynn, finished first and second.

We can pack our team with 6-pointers, but without two, preferably three, out and out headleaders we will struggle badly.

Without checking I'd estimate everyone was within half a point of the limit last year - pretty negligible. But make that half a point 2 points and throw in that some of them teams 2 point under the limit could be full of riders who achieved their averages while second strings so they'e inflated averages and one or two teams could be up rubbish creek without a paddle.

Rosco has his critics, but historically he has built play off teams in around 7 out of the past 8 years (including the Coventry title winning side)

I'm content that 2015 will be no different.

Kings Lynn started with 30.92, Coventry 30.98, more than one point below the 32 limit. But as mentioned the FTR riders made a big difference and their scores often were the deciding factor in the meeting.

Will wait to see who we and other clubs sign before any meaningful comparisons can be made.

Josh, Milik, Watt & Dak were the 4 Poole assets mentioned not Holder or Ward & I dont think any of those 4 will improve their average including Milik. Edited by Crazy robin
