chris4gillian
Magic should be in the side get rid of Ward No matter what darcy has done off the track, it's his skill on the track which we all admire and is the reason why Matt Fords has been waiting....and waiting....rightly or wrongly depending on your personal opinion. However, Magic has proved himself to be a pretty special individual and last season 'Bjarne Pedersen'ed' (i.e. carried) us to the EL title and that alone 100% desrves a return this season so why the chuffin' heck he's not been signed escapes me! A spearhead of Chris (assuming he gets the visa clearance) and Magic would have done us just fine I still can't believe we have gone with Davey and North, those 2 signings baffle me just as much as not signing Magic!!!! Milik must be pi$$ed and Josh G didn't do much wrong either. p.s. If Chris doesn't get his visa sorted out and Darcy 'gets off' we could feasibly be tracking Darcy AND Magic. It could only happen in speedway.... Edited January 29, 2015 by chris4gillian

SteveLyric2
I think Poole's 2015 team building is all about getting the club back on a sound financial footing after what must have been a very expensive 2014, with all the rider costs and losing your main team sponsor (and its final year payment??). Whether the likes of Davey Watt and Dakota North 'come cheap' as some have suggested, I would imagine they are a little cheaper than flying riders in from abroad every week! Going with Holder and Ward - if that is what is finally allowed - is a sure fire 'box-office winner' (not only for Poole but for other clubs too) so is highly likely to boost attendances. Business first - sentiment second.

Yes - assuming his current visa has been revoked like the others?!

I thought I'd read somewhere that Darcy isn't in the same boat....due to the fact that his mother is British, however I could just as easily be wrong with that. Correct, hence why he was allowed to race Conference League Speedway with the Boston Barracudas.
SCB
Correct, hence why he was allowed to race Conference League Speedway with the Boston Barracudas. But he rode PL on a 5. And a quick google of "darcy ward work permit" suggests there have been worries in the past

And a quick google of "darcy ward work permit" suggests there have been worries in the past If it comes to the crunch though he'll just sign up to a dual nationality passport. Surely wouldn't be difficult for him to do.

Grachan
The above bold bit suggests that he isn't involved in the current problems. If he's had work permits in the past then he'd presumably have them now. I don't know if his mother is British or not, but I've never heard of him being a British Citizen before now. Presumably he'd have used this option from the beginning of his career as it helps Australians a lot riding here if they have dual nationality. Jason Crump and Nick Morris come to mind as riders who used it from the very beginning because they had the option. (Nowadays I don't believe someone like Jason Crump could have gained a British passport. Being born here no longer automatically gives you that right.) SCB
If it comes to the crunch though he'll just sign up to a dual nationality passport. Surely wouldn't be difficult for him to do. It's not that simple. The parents or grandparent has to have been born here before 1953 or you have to have been born here before 1983. Is his mum that old? If she's not, she may be British but he's not. The above bold bit suggests that he isn't involved in the current problems. No, it suggests that in the past work permits were applied for late and there was a worry he wouldn't get it in time. How late his work permit was in 2009 isn't relevant to 2015 He's as effected now as every Aussie/American/non-EU rider in British speedway in that no club can employ him. brewer
I think you will Darcy rode when commonwealth riders were allowed in the CL rules then changed to 2 years max and then changed to the current of partiality only. Foreverblue. Josh g is allowed to double as has, I believe a polish passport due to family history.

You must know that going by most of the reactions on here - its nothing to go by!!! I thought I'd read somewhere that Darcy isn't in the same boat....due to the fact that his mother is British, however I could just as easily be wrong with that. Think you might be confused with Dak North on that one. His mother comes from Poole originally! Edited January 29, 2015 by Skidder1
