@nedpayne_echo: Pirates reserve Kyle Newman pulled out of tonight's GP qualifier in Gorican with an arm injury after a heat two spill #speedway

GP Qualifier - really??

I hope he's ok but I don't think he is ready for the big time!

I don't understand that either - any more than why Watt's average has gone from 6.71 up to 7.08 whilst he's been out injured??!!

Probably because average is now over last 20 meetings rather than last 28 as s per last season & his 1st 8 races scores in that average were low.

Janowski 8.22

North 7.18

Watt 7.08

HOLDER 7.00

Gomolski 4.67

New averages according to the bspa. Chris Holder at #2! Even off form he will clean up!

Has it been decided who makes way for Ward if the Pirates decide to bring him back into the team ? Would two riders have to be changed ?

I understand that - so why didn't he start on a lower average then? He only rode one Elite Shield meeting before getting injured?!

Someone has asked about Gomolski's average on the Poole forum and the answer was 'because a new directive was issued to promoters on Friday'??!! It doesn't say what the directive said?!! Strange............?!

Davey Watt did start on an average of 6.71 which was lower. So I am assuming come the May averages when all riders were adjusted to the 20 matches rode,Davey Watts had to be adjusted aswell regardless of whether he had any league meetings this season.

Personally I think the averages at the start of the season should have been based on the 20 matches, not the 28 and then change it after the first month.

Still a bit odd though - but I guess as its the BSPA I shouldn't be surprised

The Davey Watt change makes sense and is, IMO correct. The Gomolski one makes no difference TBH it's just odd/wrong.

Apparantly there has been a new supplementary rule added to the regs only regarding those riders who did not ride in 2014 - to "overcome any confusion"??

Hopefully the 'new directive' benefits all clubs and not just a select few as per usual.

No dig at any one club by the way.

thats worked well then!

The winter was the time for any of this - not a month into the season.

I see Poole FC not only choked the League Title they compounded it by choking the play-offs v little St Neots. All this choking, the Boston Strangler would have had a field day down there. Seems to be a recurring theme with Poole teams.
