waiheke1
Anyone got any thoughts on Howarth instead of Bjerre?Yes. It would be utter madness are my thoughts.
Panthers89
Bjerre a rider who has hit 8.50 in his time in the Elite League vs Howarth who has done what? A 60% Bjerre offers more potential than Kyle ATM.
pointsmeanplayoffs
If we wait until August to make a change, there will be less of a fixture problem and we might be able to persuade Nicki to come and win the play-off for us ?!?
Star Fever
But at that time most people would have wanted to get rid of Porsing as the the double change.I was also one of those. Currently we have 8.28 to replace Bjerre I think.Who would come to replace him anyway. We keep hearing riders aint to bothered to ride over here anymore. Would you have Mads on a 5.95 average? But then people would complain that we have 8.28 to play with and we are only using 5.95 of that. Could you persuade the likes of Sayfutdinov,Pedersen or Kildemand to do the last dozen or so matches.Probably not. Zmarzlik? Przedpelski? Either have the potential to cover8.28 imo ...something that Howarth would be very unlikely to do! Mads howevercould ....and be good for the team/fans too and as much as id like to see NickiP return....his average surely wouldn't fit....would it?? But surely having Nicki back in the EL would be in the best interests of the sport? He's BOX OFFICE as Nigel and Kelvin would say. Surely some bullrubbish assessed average could be concocted to get him in as in the norm these days.

Starboy118
60% would be fantastic. When was the last time we got that? I have to say that the communication from the Club is nothing short of pathetic. Why on earth don't they employ someone with a semblance of PR skills. Supporters are told practically nothing and taken for granted. How does the management feel the season is going? Are there any plans to improve matters for the rest of the season? The buzz has gone. The excitement has disappeared. Or is it just me?

I have no idea if it's the PR or the management, but I'd go for the latter, but something sure is missing. My simplistic reasoning is that if it's the PR person at fault, management would simply change him whereas the PR person hasn't a hope in hell of changing the management. Maybe there is not a lot to say.I'm sure if you read the programmes and listen to the live interviews you hear how they think things are going at the moment.I don't think they should air their plans in public if they were to improve the team as this would be unfair on the rider(s) in question who would be replaced.Only at the time of a rider being replaced could they announce that. How did we all get on years ago I wonder .Nowadays with all this technology people expect something new every other day on websites etc.I'm not to bothered as long as i get to know at some point before anything is about to happen.

Star Lady
Tellboy, I don't expect them to tell us their plans re any possible team changes. However this is the 50th year of speedway in Lynn and I've hardly seen a mention of it. In fact if it wasn't for Trees banging the drum I doubt many folk would even realise. For once I'm 100% behind Trees she's had some cracking ideas so far but they seem to have fallen on deaf ears. I know Jonathan Chapman wasn't everyone's cup of tea but he would have shouted it from the rooftops. 50 years is an achievement, it should be celebrated and promoted as a way to get folk interested in the sport. Just ask yourself would Matt Ford be keeping this quiet about 50 years - I think not, and whatever your views on the man one thing he does know how to do is promote and keep his fans happy. Star Fever
A special 'Pride of the East' would be a good way to finish our 50th season maybe?

Lakeside were interested in Przedpelski until they discovered he would come in on a 7.5 average. It's big ask for aPole to come to British tracks he has never ridden before and is not used to and hit that sort of average straight away. The season would probably be over before he gets dialled in. The only promotions I seem to see that are working are the price reductions. Not at Lynn though.I think you could have a front page spread on every newspaper going and it wouldn't entice many more people along if any.I think at the moment price reductions is the only way to get people interested. Possibly so but they won't know if they don't try it They could even combine it with the 50th celebration. 50 golden tickets distributed at random allowing free or reduced admission (let the press know, nothing like free advertising lol). Anyone that can prove they were born on the date of the first meeting gets reduced admission. 50 free progs etc. the possibilities are endless and they need not cost the earth. If it were kept going throughout the season and appropriate press releases sent out it would be extra publicity given that most outlets rely on PRs for info. Instead I understand there will be a one of anniversary meeting, which I doubt given the standard of non league matches nowadays will be less than a cracker and only allow publicity for one or possibly two weeks of the season. There again I'm just someone who was there 50 years ago and Lynn speedway has played a very big part in my life. I admit it no longer does but that doesn't mean I don't want it to flourish and succeed. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see Buster lift the EL Trophy at the end of the season cos he has done as much if not more than anyone else to keep the Stars going.
