Agrotron
So you keep saying. Most people feel the same about Darcy. So you keep saying, I was answering the question above my post

stevebrum
Yeah likewise We all get it, you don't rate the British World Champion and don't care if he doesn't ride here next season. Think we all get it. Just in case you wished to go over old ground.
semion
Is it a remote Possibility that either Ward and/or Woffy will be at Lynn next season ? If not then why are a Wolves and a Pitrate fan having a WI meeting about it on this thread ?

If not then why are a Wolves and a Pitrate fan having a WI meeting about it on this thread ? No idea why a Poole fan needs to have a go at Tai on a Stars thread but in my defence its been mentioned on this thread that some Stars fans would like Woffy at Kings Lynn next year. No idea if its a remote possibility that either might be at Lynn next year, but some of your own would like that to happen!
magnificentseven
I wouldn't give a fig if Woffinden rides here or not no. There are many Wolves fans that agree with you.

tellboy
Nice to think not one Stars fan would say such a thing about our number one :-) Of course we wouldn't he had another great season. But had he had a season like Woofy and drop nearly 2.2pts off his starting average would we all be defending him,i think not. So I can understand some Wolves fans frustration with him.
Trees
Depends whether the fans trust the riders with their reasons for a bad year. They are not just scoring machines afterall. I must admit that I was a lil peed off when Tai gave his ultimatum for riding over here but I guess it's good to get an idea out there. Tai has been great here for years, perhaps his extra work as WC over here was too much and including his injuries, he took his eye off the ball. If he does race for Wolves on his low average, maybe they'll be in for a big year in 2015!! Nice prospect!
semion
Surely its all about priorties. Maybe Tai considered The Elite ( using the term losely) League was bottom of the heap. Bit like how in Football the big Clubs treat the FA/League Cups. Not even the big Clubs, even the meduim size ones have little interest in these Comps until the smell of a trophy looms. g13webb
I'm at a lost to know whats important anymore, Each day it becomes more obvious we cannot afford to pay the astronomical fees the top riders want. The crowd numbers are saying this load and clear. For the Elite league to stand any chance of survival we have to dictate the terms we can afford. If it means saying goodbye to riders like Woffy and Ward, then so be it....

If the standard drops and Woffy and Ward don't ride the crowds will drop again and you won't save any money in fact you might lose more . The same mistake keeps being made dropping the standard so the crowds drop. Been doing the same for the last 20 years and it's not worked .
Agrotron
Unfortunately the standard of the Elite league is no different from the Premier, the EL should offer all the top riders from all over the world otherwise the Elite word is just a farce. A lot of the top riders who used to be here and furthered there career have dumped well and truly on the UK and now look at the state of things we all know a shake up is needed in the sport and has needed for a long time the AGM is no more than a WI meeting that never really come out with anything positive, as long as we have promoters running the sport the more the joke is becoming, I mean what do they actually do at this AGM? People on here keep telling me why am I so negative but tell me what is there to be really positive about Edited November 4, 2014 by Pirate Oliver

Top name riders wont and don't attract new fans, they only appeal to old supporters who know who these ridersare. Close, Exciting racing, and fun presentations is what will attract new supporters, at a cost they and the promotions can afford. What's the point of paying top wack for riders who Joe Blogs in the street, has never heard of. regardless of how good he is....
pointsmeanplayoffs
Putting the same 7 riders out, week in-week out, on the same race night would help develop a bigger fan base. You need a team to develop an identity. You know that on every other Wednesday, at 7.30, you're going to watch the same 1-7. For me the double up rule has to go OR there has to be some kind of standardisation of race nights whereby certain leagues race on set nights. A little bit off topic I know. Poole put good and strong sides out and those teams paid for themselves . so the answer to question is that they Can afford Ward, Wolves can afford Woffy and it makes good business sense . Plenty of point of keeping good riders as you need to keep the fans you have now . As I said we have had 20 years of doing the thing you want to do it's not worked

To get the old fans who now rarely if ever attend to come back? The length of meetings and the amount of guests in each meeting is the two biggest issues for me. The amount of guests put off the older fans and new fans who wonder how can a rider compete for another team in the same league. A meeting should really take an hour and a half max unless circumstances dictate otherwise. Edited November 4, 2014 by woz01
