jammag
In all honesty I think the woffinden link has only come from the fact he was practising at Lynn a couple of weeks ago and people have put 2 and 2 together and made 5. I would love him at Lynn but realistically I can't see it happening.
T.N.T.
He can use Kings Lynn because it is an owned track and he and others can do this every week in Poland. There is no doubt his main aim in 2015 is to win back the World Title and if he feels that 28+ meetings in Britain is going to prevent that then he like others will give Britain a miss. More will be known shortly regarding Tai and also Iversen as both have a hectic race schedule even without Britain and both clubs will look to riders like Frederik Lindgren to come in next season. For Grand Prix riders, a Wednesday night track can be a better move to prevent three meetings in three days in three countries which is possibly why another GP rider could be a target for Kings Lynn. tellboy
And I was just told that most Lynn fans weren't expecting both current FTRs in their team. You cannot swap Lambert with Kerr - as both aren't FTRs - unless you are talking about Simon Do we know who the FTRs are yet?.If Roynon,Birks and Auty are going to be picked as a FTR why couldn't Lambert. These riders have all rode EL before. stevebrum
Woffinden will not be riding anywhere apart from Wolverhampton If he rides over here ! That still wont stop people thinking that Woffy will ride somewhere else other than Wolves.
Bagpuss
I think the Woffinden link is a 2+2=5 story, typical of those which fly around this time of year. The fact that he loves our track and gets on well with Buster & Rob etc just adds fuel to the fire. He would of course be an excellent signing but I don't see it happening for a number of reasons, not least his desire for less fixtures this season. I've learned over the years to never say never when it comes to sport but I think this one is highly unlikely.

The most important reason of course is that he is a Wolves asset and will ride for his parent club if he rides EL in 2015.
Bagpuss
Speedway riders are essentially self employed and ride where they wish, regardless of whose asset they are. That's the bottom line.
stevebrum
Speedway riders are essentially self employed and ride where they wish, regardless of whose asset they are. That's the bottom line. True. And some are loyal to their parent clubs. Freddie for 10 seasons and Tai for 6 seasons. All of their EL career. Thats the bottom line. Bagpuss
True of course, but if either really wanted to ride elsewhere then they would. That's the he crux of the argument, it's about what the rider wants at the end of the day. Like footballers, speedway riders have all the power. Most riders will ride exactly where they want. We are lucky at Wolves as most are loyal. A rare thing these days.
semion
Just to add a little bit of fuel to the fire. MAYBE Tai would fancy a complete change of scenery after what appears to be a disappointing 2014 Elite League season for him and Wolves. Plus MAYBE ( that word again) he might feel a Wednesday night track means he wouldnt have to flit between Poland and Sweden to do Monmore On a Monday. Having said all of that Could Lynn really afford to pay out on 2 big hitters like NKI and Wuffy ? I cant see Wuffy at Saddlebow next season, although it is a nice thought. pointsmeanplayoffs
It sounds like it's more than likely that our 1-7 may be the same as in 2014. If we do then I think we'll have the same comparative strength to other teams like we had last season for 2 reasons; i) last year we benefited from having Lambert on a fake average of 3.00 (which he was always going to increase) which allowed us to have to have 2 GP riders as heat leaders with high averages. ii) there are 2 more points to play with this year which means any 2nd string with a pre-2014 average can be bought in on a lower average (I'm thinking Lebedev here) which represents better value than a 2nd string with a 2014 average. I'm pretty sure a lot of riders will be bought into the EL whom never rode in 2014. The team which was put together last season was very smart indeed, you could see from the off that it had potential and was designed with the new FTD rules in mind (could get away with 'weaker' second strings as they had easier rides than before). I just think that we need to evolve, like the rules have, and pick a smart team again and not 'copy and paste' from last year.
speedy17
We won't win the league with the same team as last year, no way. Buster says as close as possible and I wouldn't begrudge seeing Iversen, Lambert, Porsing, Kerr and Rose again HOWEVER, Bjerre and Schlein didn't cut the mustard for me, Schlein took a lot of stick last year, and a lot of it justified with many diappointing performances compared to when he was guesting for teams, but the one thing about Schlein is he does seem to try all of the time and is capable of a pass. Bjerre on the other hand, a lot of people seem to oversee many of his poor meetings due to getting back in to it after an injury, but i can count the amount of legitimate passes he has made on one hand, he hates it when people are around him and although he's not quite as bad as shutting off going in to corners, he's so tentative. The man should be scoring double figures week in week out, especially at home, and this season he really didn't and he won't next year either for me. Would much rather see a rider like Bech who's at the age where he'll chase down every point, capable of passing and on the up in the sport. Bech for Bjerre and I'd be reasonably happy. castrolargh
Why not?? They were the stand out team till injuries hit! Because the points limit has been raised, and other clubs will take advantage of this by strengthening their own teams, making the stars not so stand out! INCOGNITO
Think Tai will appear sometime during 2015 but who for ? Kings Lynn can retain most of their current team but it's unlikely they will get Kerr and Rose next season and have to settle on Kerr and whoever ? While Tai may find some benefit at riding for a Wednesday night track there is also the downside of maybe being based in Sweden and spending days before each GP preparing rather than in an airport If the commitment isn't there you are sogning a 6-7 point rider at best

I think that is harsh on Kenny. He had some bad injuries which seem to always come at the worse time for him. It's been said before that he takes longer than most to get over crashes which is understandable as he's only small : ) Seriously, he was dynamite at the start of last season if memory serves. If Tai is not available, then Kenneth is a great 2nd heat leader IMO. If Bech is to come in, then it's for Rory I'm afraid for me.
stevebrum
Because the points limit has been raised, and other clubs will take advantage of this by strengthening their own teams, making the stars not so stand out! The only reason the points limit has been raised is due to the increase in averages for the second strings. So in effect not a lot has changed regards strength. The strength has come in making the draft stronger so the reserve berths will be where the strength will come from next season - making the picks crucial. The Stars , if they retain the same squad will still be one of the strongest sides IMHO.
