5 FURROW
I am sure the vast majoriy would happy to do so as long as the gaps between the races were also longer. As it is, most go back into the pits quickly to ensure the bike is going to be prepared and ready for the next race. Sometimes I don't think supporters really understand or think about how much work goes on between the races. Possibly some supporters don't understand what work goes on between races but it takes all of 30 seconds to go round after the race and I don't really think 30 seconds is gonna make all that difference

Sometimes I don't think supporters really understand or think about how much work goes on between the races. The NL lads didn't have a problem doing it the other night despite there only be a dozen or so fans at the far end of the stadium. The 2 mins was being put on pretty swiftly all night too. Basically riders can't be arsed to spend 20-30 seconds to make the fans feel appreciated. There comes a time when the fans can't be arsed to turn up only to be taken for granted. It should be part of EVERY riders contract and promoters should enforce it. It's part of their job to put on a show for the fans....no fans no speedway no pay packet. StarCrazy
What the riders should realise is, if they continue their lap it would help with cooling the bike down!
Haza
I personally think it's time to drop down to the premier, local Derbys against Ipswich Peterborough and rye house. And bring back Kozza and riders who try and want to ride for the stars. Not like most of the team we have now. I have been going to Lynn for over 40 years but Lynn has lost its spark and razzmatazz. The promotion do not interact with the fans now since Jonathan chapman has left, the fans are just expected to turn up but sadly people are getting fed up with it and are drifting away. the only reason I go now is because my son wants to go if not I would be another fan drifting away bring back Kozza the Australian version of Adam Roynon ? Always injured just gets going the bang - don't think so - as for PL it's not for me - is it a case we can't win the top league so drop down ? Half the meetings in PL are over before a wheel is turned - why anyone would want Rye House at Lynn I don't no they are as bad at Lynn as Lakeside are in the EL - let's stick at the EL and get this title won . PL at Lynn ain't for me

semion
For me, Its not all about winning. Its about the entertainment value on offer. Sadly this year its has been in very much short supply. The whole thing has been as flat as a witch's T1t

Trees
Loads of stuff could have been done better IMO, particularly meeting presentation but the fans have to take some responsibility, we're hard work to please, Polish fans go to their meetings with an absolute positive attitude for their club, they make the atmosphere, not the music, not the commentator ...... not saying we could do the same but we could support our club with more vigour instead of bloody moaning, and perhaps it would rub off!?

Thats a fair comment. We don'e exactly roar the place down. The odd cheer on first bend and in the start/finish straight stand is all we manage.
steven101
Get down to eastbourne, they love doing lap of honours! No pre madonnas down there either, best thing we ever did was dropping down 2 leagues.

Have a trip to Carrot Road one of these weeks Trees and see what they offer to whip the crowd up on the lead up to kick-off time. This season, and maybe since the departure of Mike Bennet the presentation has been poor and in fact sterile at times. There are a lot of factors that go into making a decent evenings entertainment. Its not so many years back that Saddlebow was an exciting place to be of a Wednesday night. I have seen it suggested it has all gone wrong since Chapman Jun disappeared. Who did actually replace him ? To my mind, no one. Unless you know different Its not enough to just throw the doors open take people's money and give them 15 mins racing. The whole package has to be much more than this.

Is this the same Chapman Jr who was constantly overspending someone else's money? Is that the reason he was outed? He did the same at the football club! I would like to see more entertainment off track, but surely the main event is the 15 heats. What would you like to see?

I'm sure I use to see you there when Lynn where in the premier and I'm pretty sure you pop along every now and then and watch Peterborough in the premier, speedway is speedway if you have 4 riders who are equal they can create just a good race if not better than the elite league crap we have put up with. As for Kozza he may not be a world better but he knows how to treat the fans ask the fans at Berwick and Glasgow he is a entertainer something we have not had for a while

The PL has changed since we was last there with Guests R/R the norm its a different league now . As for Kozza yes he's good with the fans but he spends half his time injured so I'd not touch him in PL . EL is where we belong in my opinion and it's the one thing this club hasn't won - a drop down with a strong PL side 50% of the meetings won't be worth watching . We shall see what happens over the winter but I hope we stay in the top league .
g13webb
We have been back in the Elite League for five years now. Apart from twice, when we scrapped in to the play-offs we have achieved nothing. There has to be something wrong. So thinking out of the box, and working on the assumption that Rory won't risk his future continuing with racing after such a life threatening injury, Probably Rory would make a fantastic Team Manager. Has proved he's wonderful at creating team spirit and motivation. No doubt he has many rider connections and would be ideal man to compile and select a team. Being a rider he will have all the knowledge needed for the many set up issue. I can't think of a better man for the Job, nor a better Job for the man......... There is no one better than Buster to look after the Stadium, and do all the track work, thus leaving Rob Lyon in charge of promoting the club and form a badly needed connection with the fans.

Maybe the riders feed off that atmosphere too and is one of the reasons they are ambivalent about riding over here.
semion
Totally agree trees. Maybe the riders feed off that atmosphere too and is one of the reasons they are ambivalent about riding over here. I feel the only thing that riders feed off in The Elite League is the pay cheque at the end of the night. It's a business to them. When you employ a Plumber to service your boiler he doesnt look for praise when he has completed the job he just wants paying and then collects up his tools and is out of there as quick as poss, and moves on to the next job. For Plumbers read Elite Speedway Riders. Edited September 4, 2015 by semion
