Ommer Mon
Well it may only be a challenge match but it has the makings of one of the closest and most entertaining meetings of the season at Monmore Wood. With the Brummies including Ben Wilson, Adam Roynon and Simon Lambert in their team, they are going to give the Heathens plenty to think about. Nice gesture from the promoters in letting Birmingham season ticket holders in free. They've suffered enough this season and best of luck to them for a comeback next year. Heathens to win by 8. Just need the weather to be kind now!!! Edited October 6, 2014 by Ommer Mon

Brummie Kev
Wish I could go tonight but sadly cant get the time off work. Good Luck to the Brummies, hope we give them a run for their money!
brianbuck
Cradley have slaughtered all comers this season especially on their own track where their average score must have been 60 plus, so with the supreme confidence that their riders all have when riding at Monmore, it will be extremely difficult to beat them, but this is a match where the result isn't especially important - it's an opportunity for both sets of supporters to show clearly what they want for next season - and that's Premier League membership for both clubs! There's been some very heavy rain locally that this has probably put a question mark over whether the match will go on, but the weather looks brighter early afternoon, so fingers crossed for a dry night, and great get together of two sets of very loyal fans, and a truly great night of racing. What more could anyone want?

Mini Jack
Anyone know what the music track was, played just before heat 15? I've heard it at the Ben Fund and also the PLRC but can never seem to find anyone who knows. Much appreciated to anyone who can shed some light. P T Preece
Well we held them to 55, not your usual 60. 4 number ones in the same team no wonder you keep beating everybody, enjoyable meeting with a lot of red and yellow about, shame about the gate jumping its becoming a habit with some of the riders. Throught the track rode well.

brianbuck
In hindsight, Birmingham should have selected a stronger team. Several of the tail enders were a bit out of their depth on a track made difficult by heavy rain from the night before and earlier in the day. Adam Roynon didn't look comfortable apart from in the one race he won, and Ben Wilson who with his experience should have been more than a match for the better Cradley riders, looked slow and didn't have much go in him. Still, no complaints the better team won and won well, and it was great to see all the yellow and red in the crowd and to have a team to follow even if it was an unfamiliar one and only for the night. Well done Heathens - let's race you in real competition next season eh?

And lets not forget Brum did win on the night, one of your guys won the £150 quid from the 50/50 draw, Im guessing this would have been probably the first time a visiting supporter has won this Draw. Deano
Great to see the Birmingham "B" back on track again. Thank you to Cradley for giving us the opportunity. Enjoyed it, although it was cold.... I wonder how long it has been, prior to last night, a full 15 heats has been raced between these two teams? OGT
13 heats would have been the last ever meeting at the Ladbroke, or has there been another match since?

brianbuck
There was another match between these two teams at Bordesley Green in 1984. As I recall, Birmingham won 40-38 with Hans Nielsen winning the last heat to complete a 15 point maximum.

Think that was my one and only time i went to Bordesley Brian, in all honesty Dan hadnt a hope in hell of making that place succesful as it stood.
