TheScotsman
1 point is enough. Ippo should be capable of that but I don't see them doing it. #breakingglass Edited October 6, 2014 by TheScotsman
BluPanther
1 point is enough. Ippo should be capable of that but I don't see them doing it. #breakingglass With Todd Kurtz at reserve, i would say there is probably no chance of Ipswich getting a point. He has been very impressive recently..
Baldyman
It doesn't matter who is at reserve, we don't have a chance in hell of a point, not with how our current crop of riders race. The only way I could possibly see us getting something, is if the weather has been awful and the track is unraceable, then our superior gating may help us. orderly
So finishing 3rd in the PL, prior to the Play-Offs, and reaching the KO Cup Final is deemed unsatisfactory If they progress to win either or both, will that still be seen as a "aged & negative". ? We all hope that our respective club will win some silverware every season, but to expect it as a right by some on here, is being unrealistic. I did not see my team win any national trophy for 18 years, but enjoyed watching some cracking racing up till then. Must have been easily pleased compared to some on here who are constantly moaning if their team is not annihilating everyone in sight I never said or insinuated that anything that Ipswich Speedway was unsatisfactory in fact they have had some very good results over the seasons and I take onboard what Chris is trying to do and I appreciate that most of the fans back him & John 100% and they deserve all the support that they can get, But I sometimes wonder if they get the support of some of the riders, which is something that is most times kept under wraps for obvious reasons. I have known Chris since he was knee high to a grasshopper from when he used to visit tracks with John, who, like Chris was a class act on the shale. In all honesty I hope that they can pull off a win at Somerset or at least take some points away and get back to winning ways, I know what it’s like for your team to have a lengthy drought, I was an Exeter supporter for many years but we came good in 1974 with the league title. There was no malice intended in my thread just an opinion..........
EnglishRoundabout
I reckon the Witches will put up a decent fight on Friday (as they did in the cup match at the OTA). However, if the track is prepared as it has been most weeks, the Rebels will be far too strong. Not sure of the forecast for Friday, but if the track is soaked, this will be a leveller and will give Ipswich a real fighting chance. BluPanther
One of our worst tracks so my heart says we can do it but my head says we will get thrashed If they want it enough, they will get in the dirt on the fastest line and go for it. However, i'm not sure all the team will do that..

However, i'm not sure all the team will do that.. being honest they wont . Worrall, Tungate, Risager all what i would class white line riders. Gino, Heeps and Hawkins will try but still cant see anything but a thumping 55-
Baldyman
I'm gonna start being positive and say we will get the point we need, I can see morten and rohans back wheels kissing the air fence right now as the Somerset riders crawl round they curb.
Super Blue
Get real people ! We could have the current top 5 in the GP standings in the Witches line up on Friday and still get battered . We are totally crap at the OTA . The optimists of this world will only ever have disappointment ahead . Pessimists (like me) don't expect anything so if something good happens its a bonus . But in this case there's only one outcome gonna happen on Friday and it isn't a positive one for Witches fans . It would take a miracle of biblical proportions or some kind of divine intervention to get even remotely close to achieving what we need to qualify as group winners . Believe me , I would absolutely love the boys to prove me wrong and make me eat the biggest slice of humble pie in history but it just isn't going to happen ! barncooseboy
For many years theOTA track was prepared in such a way that you could use the full width and still win a race, for the past 18 months it has become a one line track and is it a coincidence that in that time crowd levels seem to have become depressed. The track man, I believe has changed would be nice to bring Eric Boocock back for a couple of days to put it back a few years.

The track is the same for all riders it's just a matter of what riders adapt to the conditions fastest, it could be Somerset or it could be Ipswich or it could be both which could result in a draw. No track ends up the same as it started, the lines can alter each lap then take into consideration the track grading after every four races, and if a rider has the balls to chase the dirt line then he deserves the win
Super Blue
Tracks are set up to suit the home teams , how often do you see a team manager from the away side having a quiet word with the track man ? That would be never . All irrelevant anyway as the OTA isn't a Witches type track however it's set up , the result isn't in doubt even before the first race . A huge home win !
