Aries
King for me, as captain. Fine with Hawkins and no problem if he retains it, but I'm another that prefers to have your best rider and number 1 as captain as long as he has leadership qualities and King has. Badge
Ritchie to stay as Captain for me, far and away the best Captain we've had for a long long time.

CardinalSin
I would prefer King as captain for the reasons already stated. The only problem is that Hawkins was captain last year and he's still in the side this year, King wasn't here. So giving the captaincy to King would mean taking the job off Hawkins, which would be harsh and could possibly have a detrimental effect on Hawkins. So for that reason, I'd probably leave it with Hawkins.
2ndbendbeerhut
Not sure it works like that although who knows But why not? If the 2nd team hadn't come along and signed him he would have ridden for his "first" team all year. The second team would have known the risks of clashes (like Ipswich not going for Ellis once it was known he was at Lakeside again) Makes perfect sense, oh hang on thats the problem..... As for the captaincy, leave it with Hawkins, seemed to thrive in the role, if it not broken don't try and fix it! Make Danny the vice captain, after all, Richie is very friendly with both Jason and Danny.
Bezza
I have just read Coventry will have priority on Danny King. I'm not sure exactly what impact this will have but it can't be ideal over the season. Do we simply have use of a guest facility up to his average when he is unavailable? screm
With King now being a BSPA asset, will Ipswich or Coventry get priority over his fixtures when there are clashes? Coventry will get priority, as they will also do over Redcar`s Stuart Robson.
2ndbendbeerhut
Coventry will get priority, as they will also do over Redcar`s Stuart Robson. Which is ******* . Both sign for a PL club first, then sign for a EL club to "make up the numbers" and the PL team suffers. King will be missing 7 meetings, inc the home and away fixtures v Peterborough, thats a car full less going to the away match! They're both technically EL riders doubling up with PL teams which makes it eminently sensible.

King will be missing 7 meetings, inc the home and away fixtures v Peterborough, thats a car full less going to the away match! Coventry can confirm arrangements for priority on their doubling-up riders in 2015, and the news is good for Bees supporters. The Buildbase Bees will have first call on the services of both Danny King and Stuart Robson in the Elite League this season. Where a rider competes in both Elite and Premier Leagues, priority is with the rider’s parent club in the event of a clash of fixtures. However, in the case of King and Robson, neither are riding for their parent clubs this season. Robson, who has joined Redcar in the Premier League, is an asset of Elite League Lakeside, and it is the league of his parent club which therefore dictates the priority on his services. King’s registration, meanwhile, is being held by the BSPA following the collapse of Birmingham as an Elite League club last season, and he is therefore classed as an Elite League rider whilst also having a Premier League team place with Ipswich. At reserve, Bees also have priority on James Sarjeant as a club asset when their matches clash with Premier League Glasgow, whilst Jason Garrity is currently without a Premier League place after leaving Rye House last week. Coventry co-promoter Neil Watson said: “I fully understand it’s been a frustration for supporters in recent years that on several occasions we’ve had to make changes because of fixture clashes, especially in home matches. “It’s something we’ve worked hard to limit as much as possible this winter, and to have confirmation over Danny and Stuart is very positive. “This means we should have much more consistency over team selection this year, and I’m sure everyone will welcome that.” Here it is in all its glory, taken from Speedway 365. ZODIAK
The sooner we get back in to the EL the better as far as I'm concerned. The Hammers fans must be drooling at the prospect of watching Andreas Jonsson most weeks and good luck to them.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
They're both technically EL riders doubling up with PL teams which makes it eminently sensible.but it is double UP not double DOWN.The cause is of course the bastardisation of the original principle of giving up and comers the chance to try EL with less risk. As soon this changed problems were bound to occur. The fast track effectively covers the original DU aim now.
2ndbendbeerhut
Good friday going to be fun....... guests have to come from Berwick (no Barker), Newcastle (no Kerr, Worrall) , Rye (no Kennett), Scunthorpe (No Auty), Workington (No Wells, Howarth) Also need a guest for Nielsen? and Peterborough possibly for Blackbird and Lambert (however if Blackbird is owned by Ipswich he will be able to ride as a PL asset!) Aries
Wasn't it said that the reason Adam Ellis dropped out of contention at a late stage was because he was named for Lakeside, a Friday track that would rule him out of too many fixtures? So now we have the exact same problem, this time with our number one
Alan_Jones
but it is double UP not double DOWN. A term that pre-dates it's use in speedway and is quantitative and not directional.
Marksman
Kyle Howarth is a Comets Asset, luckily for us Wells will only miss 2 meetings for the season, when he is riding for Wolves. Going to effect the Thurs/Fri night tracks the most throughout the season so not ideal for the PL.
