Baldyman
I think a few Ipswich fans are slightly blinded by the fact that Wells goes quite well at Foxhall, but Wells goes completely AWOL on far more away tracks than Risager does which he often seems criticised for. Having read that, I thought I would do a bit of investigating to see how true or wrong you are. This has been mortens best season by far, and according to others, Wells not best season, so this should be interesting, the scores are this seasons only. At Berwick Wells scored 6 and 12 Morten scored 9 Somerset Wells 8 morten 4 and 4 Rye Wells 8 morten 14 and 9 Sheffield Wells 6 and 5 morten 7 Scunthorpe Wells 9 and 10 morten 7 and 4 Edinburgh Wells 12 and 7 morten 5 and 0 Glasgow Wells 7 and 7 morten 5 Plymouth Wells 7 morten 14 and 8 Redcar Wells 6 morten 6 Newcastle Wells 13 morten 7 Peterborough Wells 9 morten 6 and 9 And at Ipswich Wells scored 9 while at Workington morten scored 8 Now looking at those scores, it doesn't look like Wells goes missing as much as you would have us believe.
Steve Irving
Quite how Tungate has increased his average to over 8 and take the no1 race jacket is beyond belief I think to most Witches fans . I don't recall many passes from him after the 1st bend , if he doesn't gate he doesn't win . Also now got himself a bad reputation for jumping the starts . Simply in my opinion he's not a PL No1 , whether that means he stays or goes is obviously up to the promotion . As I've previously said , we currently have a good team but not a great one and I think it needs freshening up with riders that can up their averages to hopefully win something next year . Well he has simple as that, and after only his third season in the sport. "Lost his way" as said above? Do me a favour. God you Ipswich fans are damn hard to please at times!
Baldyman
I don't think it helps that tungate is one of the most boring gating tarts I've ever seen race.
Steve Irving
I don't think it helps that tungate is one of the most boring gating tarts I've ever seen race. Then you'll absolutely love Ricky Wells. I hope you sign him.
Baldyman
I know all about Wells too, seen him many times, but we wouldn't be using Wells as a number 1, which tungate would be, and number one needs to be able to pass and not shut off half way down the straight when behind. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Perhaps we could sign Wells and reverse recent trends - take a 6.5 rider and turn him into a No1 rather than take a No1 rider and turn him into a 6.5 rider! Re Tungate - I do think it is harsh to say he has lost his way. A point on his average each year is decent. Agree that he is limited from the back and has only shown in the odd meeting any real signs that he would pass. Can be super quick and maybe could breakthrough into that 'true No1' category. A new challenge could be the making of him.
Super Blue
The problem with Tungate that his style of riding is not conducive with passing . He picks all the wrong lines and although looking quick when in front he certainly doesn't when behind . To me an 8+ average for him is too high to take a risk with as a no1 for next season , but as we say it's all about opinions .
Baldyman
I don't think I'm being harsh at all, I don't want him as my teams number 1 next season, I do find him boring to watch. I haven't said he isn't any good or he won't get any better or that he hasn't improved every season. It's a thread about who we would like to see in next year's team, and as a number 1, I don't want to see him in my team, it's as simple as that. God you Ipswich fans are damn hard to please at times! Do you not have high hopes and ambitions for your team to be the best ? All im saying is with Tungate as the Witches no1 I will expect nothing more in 2015 than we've achieved this year and that is diddly squat ! I don't apologise for my opinion either. Super Blue
Ok, perhaps achieving diddly squat was a bit harsh and a poor choice of words but winning nothing still remains precisely the point I was making. Some radical are required to put together a team that can actually win something
Jonny the spud
Yes the "nearly" factor is frustrating but the team have proved that when they're firing on all cylinders together they're unbeatable. Almost all the riders have gone through a rough patch at some point throughout the season and there have been calls on here for them to be replaced, but at the end of the day we finished third, got to the KO finals and more importantly all 7 riders that we started the season with are still there ! Edinburgh were unbeatable this year and congratulations to them but with their success comes a problem. They'll be over the points limit for next year and a winning team will be broken up. I wish I had the answer but I don't, but the team spirit in the pits this year has been fantastic and although there are moaners i'm sure there's a hell of a lot of other teams below us who'd love to be in our position. 2ndbendbeerhut
Moto 3 line up just been released and Arthur Sissis hasn't got a team in 2015. Lots a speedway in local paper today. Main point being is Witches need an out and out no1. Edited October 23, 2014 by 2ndbendbeerhut

On 8+ he would have to fill that role and he's certainly not a big no1 yet.

In fact they started the season with the top 2 having higher combined averages than they have finished it with (same riders though).
CardinalSin
I can understand those saying Rohan is a risk on his average, but he's our asset, has improved each year and it would leave a slight sour taste if he was left out for me. I do share the same concerns as others regarding him though so I'm on the fence.
Bash
Maybe we could bring in a slightly higher average than Rohan's as TheScotsman says and find a 3 pointer like Edinburgh did with Steve Worrall this year. Do play-off matches and koc count towards averages as if they do I would imagine Rohan's average would've gone down so he might not be over eight to finish the season. Jonny the spud
Apparently there's 4 pages on the withches in the paper. Can anyone sort out a link for us that live 1400 kms away ?

If I remember correctly, at the beginning of the season Chris Louis said that he had got 3 year work visa's for Rohan & Cameron, at some expence, aswell. Does that mean that they can only race for the club that obtained the visa's ? As some others have said, I am also not convinced that Danny King will be the answer.
