dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Generally to be in the mix the team average has to rise by 4-5 points ending up 47+ So we would need 9,8,7,7,6,6,4 which is certainly possible. If you cant be positive pre season its gonna be a long year! Only 3 months to go - up the Witches!
SCB
You are the twit, my forum friend. Nicolas Covatti is Argentine born and bred. He speaks Spanish as his first language. He has an Italian passport by some peculiar device used by many other sportsmen (mainly footballers)to avoid visa requirements. For some reason, Argentinians seem able to acquire EU passports very easily. Facundo Albin, who raced for Sheffield in 2013 had never been out of Argentina in his life until he arrived in the UK to race -- with a Spanish passport! Both Emiliano Sanchez and Carlos Villar raced in the UK on EU passports, too. He's Italian, he rode for Italy in the SWC. Once again, before calling someone a twit, get your facts right. BluPanther
He's Italian, he rode for Italy in the SWC. Once again, before calling someone a twit, get your facts right. Nicolás Covatti (born 19 June 1988) is an Argentine motorcycle speedway rider who has ridden twice in the Speedway Grand Prix of Italy and has raced in the UK for theBirmingham Brummies and Sheffield Tigers. He rides under an Italian licence and qualifies for the Italian national team.

Super Blue
Having had a chance to cogitate on the team, at first I was little disappointed at a couple of the signings but now I'm a bit more positive. Danny King. Should be the true No1 we were all after and and as long as he maintains about a 9 average (hopefully more) he will definitely have done his job for us. Personally very glad to see him back. Rohan Tungate. If he can continue to improve his average from the No5 position then he will more than justify his inclusion in the side which I will honestly admit I was sceptical about. Gino Manzares. Looking forward to seeing him kick on next year and up his performance to become a true heatleader. Just needs to go with the flow and not over ride as he did at the end of this season. Cam Heeps. Needs to get back to his 2013 form after being hampered by injury and possible confidence issues this year. Should hopefully have a good year and I'm more than happy with his inclusion in the lineup. Ritchie Hawkins. Wasn't initially enamoured with him being named in the team because I don't really see much room for improvement but on reflection a solid 5pt+ man is always good to have. Stefan Nielsen. A little surprised at first with his inclusion but he definitely is capable of upping his average, although he has had some very poor nights at Foxhall in the last couple of seasons. Nico Covatti. Bargain coming in on 4.19. Looked superb in the 2013 16lapper before tiring. On decent equipment should improve to a 7ish average imo. Don't think he will be at reserve long. Well chuffed with his signing. So, if Danny, Rohan and Ritchie can at least maintain their averages and Gino, Cam, Stefan and Nico improve on theirs I see no reason why we shouldn't have a reasonable to good season. Whether we will be good enough to win silverware, only time will tell. I'm just looking forward to seeing some real competitive racing in 2015! screm
Just to be clear, and facts straighter than a straight thing Nico Covatti was born in Coronal Pringles in Argentina. Who he rides for in SWC, or what license he rides on is just pure choice or coincidence.
Fozzie4388
Not sure who Stephan Nielson is but seem to remember Stefan Nielsen getting 8+2 (From 5 rides) for Glasgow last season round Foxhall including defeating Tungate, Hawkins, Heeps and Ellis (x4)

My point was valid but also I said that he is more than capable of improvement , which I hope he does big time .

Gavan
When your team finishes over the points limit do you really expect to change like for like. The team will look weaker as you have had to get rid of riders with higher averages to get below the limit again. This team on paper is on par with a lot of the other named teams except Somerset who are two points better off than anyone else . Can't wait til the season starts again as this team has potential to do well. really? In 30 years of watching speedway I never knew if you finished over the limit you had to lose riders. I just don't think we are that strong that's all. Teams like Edinburgh , Somerset , Workington for example finish over the limit every year yet still in some cases come back stronger the next year. Teams like Rye House and Glasgow come under the limit yet seem to always struggle so I don't go along with the theory that you are weaker because you have to change riders. It's how you build your team. I hope we can be challenging and I see us as top 6 but not enough to make the extra step. You need to win away from home in this league and I can't see it happening a lot. Just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong
Bash
So if you put the teams from the end of the 2014 season against the teams named to start the 2015 season for the teams you named above you don't think they look weaker, really? The 2014 teams would win everytime and that is just my opinion. So if you can't see any potential in this team, it's going to be a long season for you. I think it's going to be a very competitive season.
Baldyman
The whole team next year depends on Cameron and gino, if they have a good season then we will, if they don't we won't. I do think although our team may not start as the strongest it may well finish as one of the strongest
CardinalSin
You have to factor in that the younger members of the team should be improving. Manzares for example now has a season's racing under his belt and raced all the tracks so in theory should do even better next season. Doesn't always happen like that obviously but there looks to be improvement in a fair few members of the team. Heeps could well be our biggest improver if as it looks, he's over his hand injury. Agreed, the guy nearly made the GP's ffs,he'll go straight up to heat leader and maybe even stay there IMO Quite clearly you didn't see him at Sheffield. I thought the same thing last August and was proved totally wrong. To be fair, he's definitely better than that average and worth signing. The question will be whether he has decent machinery or not. If he has, then he could easily be a heat leader. If not, he won't improve that much.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Last year I did a best/worst rider profile so here goes again. Danny - Could be up there as a challenger for the PL no1 no1 - 10+ or if the PL is just a top up to his regular job in the EL he will stand still - 8.5 Rohan - Could increase his average as he has done each year so far especially without the pressure of being at no1 - 9+ or he has found a level and loses interest - 7.5 Gino - Becomes the true heat leader many hope he can be - 7.5 or doesnt cut out the mistakes andstruggles -5.5 Cam - Returns to his 2013 form and kicks on - 7.25 or turns into just a solid team man - 5.5 Ritchie - Continues to revel in the captains role - 5.75 or rides like he has signed for Edinburgh - 4.5 Nico - KEY MAN - could be this years Sedgman. Has the ability but not all are convinced he will prove it - 7+ or instead does a Makinen - 4.5 Stefan - gets into the groove and scores confidently - 5.0 or suffers falls and mechanical gremlins to slip away - 3.75.
