Ipswich 2015

Recommended Posts

I know PHIL HILTON very well........he knows more about speedway than most on this Forum....he is as straight as they come..a goood motivator....won't follow the "Company Line"..top man..doesn't take "prisoners"..!!...but in all seriousness that's a very good appointment...could have been an awful lot worse when I scroll up and see a certain name. Give him a chance....

Fully agree with those comments.

Rob Lyon had no speedway background, yet went on to become the England manager. Mr Hilton might not get to that level, but I think we can rest easy that he will the job 100%.

Tbh the team manager doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to be any good. What he needs is 7 willing riders and background of what makes them tick. Also a brown envelope or 2 to make them ride a certain way would help. Eg make sure you don't get a 4-2 so the opposition can't put in a tac sub but will still pay for 2nd place?!

Also depends on his "tools" final 2 places will have a big say on whether the Witches will be there abouts come autumn

So Louis doesn't know if Ipswich will have first call an Danny in a clash? Isn't that something he should have looked into and should know by now. I'm absolutely amazed that he doesn't know, is it that hard to find out? Well if we don't have first call, then we will be using guests pretty often as at least half the away meetings are on a Friday night, and that's not including any play offs we may face or cup matches. Yes we can use guests, but is that really the point.

Witches "Taster" video, 4 return, 3 join, team is obviously set then..

Well we have been told that Worrall, Ellis and Risager will not be there to not really telling us anything we don't know! ;)

Unless Coventry purchase his contract, I can't see how the EL matches would take precedence.

So I guess the "not knowing" is down to not knowing whether Horton is planning on purchasing his contract or not?

Nah i don't believe that, I just don't think he knows, otherwise he would have said it like that surely.

Ring ring, hello, oh hi Mr Horton, it's Chris Louis here, I was just wondering if you could tell me if you are intending to buy Danny kings contact from the bspa?

Why would he not find out at the recent conference, or make a phone call to someone that knows. :o

Thats what you would think but......

“As Danny’s contract is currently being held by the British Speedway Promoters’ Association, then it’s not clear who will have priority of him should we have a clash with the Bees,” Louis added.
“Whatever happens though, we will get a guest, but I’m hoping we will be allowed his services first and I’ll be pressing for that.”
So no he doesn't know! :o

3. If there is no “ownership” then the PL Club has priority

Is that from the 2014 regs? So as long as Ipswich get their fixtures sorted 1st we are ok then? ;)
