smod
Would be even better if we had a PA system that worked properly first! No problems hearing things from where we sit when we come to Foxhall.
TheScotsman
And better track lighting so that we can see who is going round.
Baldyman
There are plenty of tracks with rubbish lighting and they don't have a stock car track inbetween, Peterborough being a prime example, all you see is shadows going down the back straight when sitting in the stand, a great track for lighting though is Coventry. Pob
Agree the lighting could be better if you look at the angle where it shines it's directed on to the stock car track but that's because of the landlords speed worth . They get a lot bigger crowds and more revenue on the gate than we could hope to achieve so it's no wonder the lighting is set up this way. P A system is rather poor as well. Baldyman
So what did hilton say about the team in the paper today?
BluPanther
So what did hilton say about the team in the paper today? Hilton, 55, a retired police officer from Felixstowe, has taken over the responsibility of team manager from Brian Messenger. A Witches fan of more than 40 years, there is one thing he hopes his young chargers can do – and that is be competitive – not just at home, but also away. “Over the years the Witches have always been a good home side, but they have also always been competitive on the road,” he said. “Ipswich were always good opponents wherever they went and I don’t want to see heavy defeats on the road next year. It’s not acceptable and the riders are just too good.” Indeed Hilton has nothing but praise for the team he is set to manage and thinks they can win the Premier League. “The team Chris Louis is putting together is an exciting one and one that is capable of winning the league,” Hilton said. “They’ve been knocking on the door for a few seasons now, cup finals and play-offs. “Next year is the time for them to grab the opportunity to really go for it. “I will want all the team to go out and express themselves. I don’t want them worrying about the opposition. “And I don’t want them thinking can they win? I want them always thinking how many are they going to win by.” While many will see it as a surprise appointment, Hilton is not concerned, and having been used to leading and managing teams in the police force, he knows his job is to quietly and effectively manage a speedway team he is convinced is capable of being Premier League top dogs. “The best team managers in speedway are not always ex-riders,” Hilton added. “I can’t hold a light to what gearing the riders use or how to ride the track. But they are the riders, not me. It’s up to them on the track. I will get them prepared off it.” And Hilton reserved praise for Witches 2015 No.1, Danny King. “Danny is a lovely lad but more than that he is a superb rider. He’s as good as any rider in the Premier League,” added Hilton.

witches forever
This mornings Ipswich Star States that the last two riders will be revealed "within the next week", so either tomorrow Thursday or Friday. Lanham tweeted last night that he was on his way home from Tenerife, so maybe you're right! Home today, signature on a contract and announcement tomorrow. Could easily just be coincidental bull shine though. Strange as i swear i saw Leigh cleaning his Dad's chippy this morning wearing a witches hoodie? Either that or it was his brother they do look alike.
Countershaftcounter
Mike Bacon keeps doing his little teasers on twitter, it all stinks of cheap trying to make it sound exciting, just get on with it FFS. In this day of instant news, social media etc I can't see the point in it.
CardinalSin
Or Saturday, Sunday or Monday - that to me is within the next week, i.e. from today Most likely Thursday though ... It's the traditional speedway day, and the remainder will be dominated by ITFC v Leeds. Mind you, even if the full line-up is sorted, that doesn't mean it will be announced ... Maybe they'll leave us all on tenterhooks for a few days ... Hope it's worth it then if they're playing that game! Rarely seen much Witches news weekends in the Star which is why I think it'll be Thursday or Friday. I agree with you Thursday looks favourite because I think they'll want it revealed before the supporters club AGM? If it isn't, maybe someone on here who is going Thursday evening can try and get something out of him

In this day of instant news, social media etc I can't see the point in it. Or trying to sell copies of the paper he works for, which is his job! Yes you could wait for the news on here, but nobody is going to write word for word the whole article that will appear in the paper. I know I've picked up copies on the way to work on the back of Mike Bacon's tweets, to read the Witches articles that I wouldn't otherwise have done. And I'm sure I'm not alone. CardinalSin
Cross Josh Bates off the 3 pointer list, as expected he's re-joining Sheffield.
Bash
Maybe it will be a new asset on a 5 ave and we nick Aaron Fox off of Edinburgh and let Gino take him under his wing which might bring the best out of him

Baldyman
Greenwood? Or some Mildenhall rider? Who did we see last year, was his name Marc Owen? Edited December 3, 2014 by baldyman
Arch Stanton
I was thinking of a possible Mildenhall rider too but nobody obvious jumped out. These last two reserve signings are absolutely vital and they have to look pretty tasty if we're going to have a successful year IMO. Countershaftcounter
Greenwood? Or some Mildenhall rider? Who did we see last year, was his name Marc Owen? Owen scored 1,1,0 when he replaced Ellis last year
Baldyman
But that's what you get with a 3 pointer, and it's hoped they improve. Although I think we will have 3.63 available.
2ndbendbeerhut
Greaves, Greenwood, Morley, Halsey any of the other Mildenhall youngsters
