mickthemuppet
Either Louis should be employed as a spin doctor or we have a decent team. Is the new term manager really something that the announcement really needed to be waited for? Not Clive Webb is it?
CardinalSin
New team manager is...... Phil Hilton. A retired police officer from Felixstowe Hands up who guessed that one correctly? LOL
Super Blue
An armchair fan turned team manager? Interesting choice, will he be an inspirational leader and make all the right tactical changes when required? Time will tell

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Thats from left field! A strong character and a straightforward decent bloke IMO. Phil would familiar to many as one of the photographers in the hi vis on the centre green and in the pits. Has a lifetime of knowledge as a fan and has obviously seen it all close up from behind the lens so knows what he is letting himself in for. Welcome aboard Phil.

spiegal
I know PHIL HILTON very well........he knows more about speedway than most on this Forum....he is as straight as they come..a goood motivator....won't follow the "Company Line"..top man..doesn't take "prisoners"..!!...but in all seriousness that's a very good appointment...could have been an awful lot worse when I scroll up and see a certain name. Give him a chance....

BluPanther
Phil Hilton, ex copper and Trimley Tigers cycle speedway rider.
Baldyman
I don't suppose it really mattered who it was, Louis pulls the strings and tells them what to do, but hey welcome aboard anyway.
Mr Snackette
Is having an ex copper as team manager any worse than having one of Chris Shears' coach drivers in the hot seat? No doubt time will tell. One wonders if the track shop will now stock a supply of Aprons, with Lodge meetings being held in Les Eaton lounge!!!!! Will the Grand Poobah be in attendance?

CardinalSin
Not a lot to discuss until Lanham gets back from Tenerife. This mornings Ipswich Star States that the last two riders will be revealed "within the next week", so either tomorrow Thursday or Friday. Lanham tweeted last night that he was on his way home from Tenerife, so maybe you're right! Home today, signature on a contract and announcement tomorrow. Could easily just be coincidental bull shine though.

Baldyman
On a totally different subject, now we have the use of a better stadium with much improved seating and facilities, wouldn't it be great if we could get some sort of big meeting next year, maybe the Ben fund?
Emma T
Simmons, Louis, Messenger & now Hilton, that's four managers in less than a year. It's a bit like a football club scenario this !

Would be even better if we had a PA system that worked properly first!
