Ipswich 2015

Recommended Posts

I also wouldn't have many from this year's team, but I don't see there being more than a couple of changes at most.

I didn't mean only Covatti & Morris from this year's team, I meant from Christopher Cook's list of .......... Covatti with Worrall, Jacobsen, Riss, Morris, Sissis.... !!

I got what you meant Scotsman but we can all wish can't we - going from the latest list of averages on the web

1. Jason Garrity

2. Eric Riss

3. Nico Covatti

4. Kyle Newman

5. Nikolaj Jacobsen

6. Ashley Morris

7. Arthur Sisiss

Now it won't happen in a month of sundays but how do people rate that team

For me I think Ipswich need to give most of these riders a kick by showing no mercy and letting them go elsewhere for a year, if they are lucky to get in the team in 2017 they will know they have to perform or lose their slot... the riders are no way bad riders at all but it all feels a little too safe

P.S. I am actually a "Promoter"

Do you really want to know what I think of that team?

That's why I like off season team building, as it's all about others opinions.

It's harsh not having king in the team but we race a lot of Friday teams, and that means missing king for a fair percentage of those.

Well in that case lol. No but seriously I don't think it's the strongest and I don't think it would win a single home meeting. And probably none away either lol.

Again howarth not for me. Haven't seen any improvement in him over the last few seasons.

I wouldn't mind seeing a top 3 of cook covatti and Worrall

We can all dream but would love that top 3 next year . Cook joining us think there's more chance of me winning the lottery

Errr should this not be in the Ippo 2016 thread or even 2017 or 2018?

And the dream top 3 everyone would want is Cookie, Smiling Sam and either Super Agent Kevin or Sedgy the Sedgehammer.

And there's only 1 PL team likely to have them!!

Everything is possible if the money is right.

Do you think Edinburgh could field all 4 of those next season?

Sadly no.

Their rolling greensheet averages at the moment are....... 36.01!!

Cookie 10.12 / Smiler 9.13 / Agent K 8.51 / Sedgy 8.25.

So under 6 and a half points to play with for 3 riders - one of whom is Erik who is on 5.05!!

I suppose we could track a 5 man team - probably win a few as well!!

Cook will end up at Glasgow ££££

That would go down well with the locals Edited by Pob

I think King has been very good and has been the number 1 we have been looking for.

I would also keep Covatti for the entertainment value alone but not sure there's much upside on his average unless he can learn to gate.

I have also been impressed with Morris, he has the ability to gate and at times has looked quick.

We are unlikely to see Manzares unless his visa was granted for more than one year or someone arranges a nice little state championship somewhere. I don't think he's been fully fit for any length of time and on his current average would probably keep him.

Tungate and Heeps would benefit from riding somewhere else for at least a season and we should get loan fees for them.

I am really not sure about Nielsen as I don't think he ever looks particularly comfortable around Foxhall but maybe that's just his riding style.

As to replacements, I haven't given it a great deal of thought but having Garrity and Covatti in the same team would be entertaining!! I also like Lawson and he is a tryer. Wells is also always consistent around Foxhall.

Lunna looked decent the other week before running out of steam and his scores are a bit up and down, but he looked the type of kid whose got a bit about him.

Finally, Riss in for Heeps - but I can't see Edinburgh letting him get away.

In Covatti you are talking about a rider who was one win away from the GP's and is in the GP Challenge final, with further investment and some fine tuning, I would rip up the scrap book and he could easily become the no.1 for next season, would rather see an entertaining side next season with improvement than the same old so now i will change it to

1. Nico Covatti

2. Robin Aspregen

3. Richie Worrall

4. Kyle Newman

5. Ricky Wells

6. Arthur Sissis

7. Ashley Morris

LOL or am i kidding ;)
