Hi there.

I am trying to track down the correct details for this meeting.

According to heat results published in the Speedway Star and the Speedway Mail Soren Sjosten scored 12 and Steve Gresham 7 points, however the match scorers in the report and the Speedway Yearbook advises Sjosten scored 11 and Gresham 8 Points, The Yearbook also advises that Sjosten rode in a heat (replacing an excluded rider) but there is no mention of this replacement ride in the published heat details.

Does anybody have a completed programme from this meeting to clarify the correct points/heat details ?

Thanks for reading

Steve

I've dusted off my programme Steve, and have Soren Sjosten scoring 12-points from 4-rides, and Steve Gresham 7-points plus a bonus from 4-rides.

Sjosten replaced fellow reserve Tony Garrard in Heat 8.

Glad I could have helped you.

On a side note.

In the following home programme the now late Gordon Parkins wrote in his programme notes entitled "Barracudatime with Gordon Parkins". This is a quote from this column "One thing that did annoy us was Bristol's involvement of the 'Guest Rider' rule for Henny Kroeze. This rule does not exist in the National League racing but the meeting referee Arnold Lee upheld Bristol's action upon interpretation of the Regulations that Senior League rules took the precedence whenever the two Divisions raced each other! All the same 'Bulldogs' could have replaced Henny Kroeze from within their own ranks had they so wished!".

Somes up what the EL & PL could do within each team today in that above quote.
