Tom Turner
Absolutely delighted that the best team won! I expect they could hear my cheers from Coventry. Â Will be cheering on the Pirates tomorrow when we wipe the floor with Coventry home and away! Â Come on you Pirates! Can only imagine the look on the faces of the Poole haters Can't explain how much joy that fills me with!
packerman
Lost interest in the sport over the tactical joker decided final in 2006, which ironically Sky still show as if injustice was something special to be celebrated. League speedway is past its sell by date anyway, only the grand prix worth watching , at least you get more than one decent race every meeting. Â You sure about that? have seen a few GP's that are a bore fest. Vojens & the Italian GP's not held at Lonigo are two in recent times I remember and I know there are others. crazyb
someone needs to get hold of speedway by the scruff of the neck and change it big time its becoming a disaster of a sport It is an absolute joke. The sport I once loved in this country is now nothing more than a tin-pot second rate one. After over forty years I have gone to my last meeting, UNLESS things change. BUT they wont, and unfortunately I don't have the answers, wish I did. But to see a play-off with half the riders as guests is just ridiculous. Why not put all the riders in a hat and draw fourteen out for each match, at least the draw would be worth watching.
Trees
How can u say that after the efforts of all the riders in the two KL v Poole semis, they all deserve respect and support!
mdmc82
Hhhhmmmm interesting quite shocked Poole are 6/5 considering they won at Cov with a team full of guests a few weeks back. That was with reserves taking Howarths rides. Coventry won at Poole when they had Ward. Â However we all know that anything can happen in speedway. Gemini
Why would he not be at Brandon ? Good question. Perhaps you can ask him why he's never been since 2010.
SteveLyric2
Just back in from a very wet Wimborne Road. Â Great credit to both sets of riders and to Christina Turnbull for getting the meeting to a proper conclusion. Â For me the difference between the 2 teams was simply Poole's top scorers were their own team members whereas KL's top 2 were their guests - Harris and Garrity. Â Magic and Kyle were brilliant and rode the most intelligent race lines in the conditions. Eddie Kennett was just awesome!! Â Schlein didn't want to play and Bjerre wasn't fit but did ok considering!! Â Well done to the Pirates and bad luck Kings Lynn.

Both teams rode well but felt for both teams the guests were their better riders with Kennett the best rider for Poole and Harris & Garriry for Kings Lynn. crazyb
How can u say that after the efforts of all the riders in the two KL v Poole semis, they all deserve respect and support!I'm not decrying their efforts, and never would, but you're missing the whole point. They weren't really Poole and King's Lynn, and that is the trouble. There aren't enough riders to go round
stevebrum
Garrity is better than Howarth anyway lol. Â They both have an PL average of 6.19 and Howarths EL average is from riding in the 1-5. Unfair to say Garrity is better when his EL rides are easier.
Pirate Nick
Appreciate that the riders and ref deserve their plaudits for their efforts tonight, but spare a thought for Gerald Richter and his crew. They have all worked so hard during this week. Without their Stirling efforts this meeting would probably not have reached a conclusion. So well done guys, so often the unsung heroes and so often the first to be blamed.
scottyfan
Garrity is better than Howarth anyway lol. If I am mistaken correct me if I am but didn't Poole use R/R for Darcy at Cov a few weeks back You are correct it was r/r for Ward.
Star Fever
So the play-off farce is finally over for the Stars and I can't say I'm disappointed tbh. With 4 missing from the team who've done so well for us this season it'd all become meaningless for Lynn anyway, and even if we'd made the final it would've meant little imo due to the absence of Niels and team Lewis. Â Having said that, well done to the patched up Stars' team at Poole tonight who never gave up despite the awful conditions, and indeed all 14 riders who stuck it out till the end. Â Well done to Poole too on making the final.....may the farce be with you!

In a way i do feel sorry for KL, as they made the running for the majority of the season and did deserve to finish top, and stuck in very well tonight in a meeting that could have gone either way in the conditions, it really made the meeting a real leveller. But they shouldn't be to dispondant they've still had a very good season. Edited October 16, 2014 by Starman2006

Woz01
What a surprise the draft riders were top scorers & sums up what a joke this season has been. Reserves have always played a key part and often been top scorers in the past. Most successful teams have had a strong reserve.
