foreverblue
As alot of people are accusing poole of fixing it so it would be called off, perhaps its possible kings lynn determined for their home meeting to go ahead as beating us over two legs was their only chance of making the final whereas as league winners we would go through if it was washed out. SCB
These Play-off's have passed their sell - by date. Because of recent happenings, the sport gets more farcical by the day. Allowing other Play-off guests to ride for each other is a laughing stock.  When will the powers realised the Mickey Mouse perception everyone has, takes away all the creditability the sport desperately needs...... Except Coventry and Swindon had big crowds last week. Swelled by people like me who have been to about half a dozen meetings only since August 2011 (the date of Kildemand/text/speedway rape allegation - gate) and I'll be going to two more next week. They're working well enough for me. SteveLyric2
With rain expected all week, what happens if the second semi can't be run before Monday? Result declared on the first leg score!! bob dugard owns the stadium and the machinery, but ain't got no shale to store! He's hardly got any fans either!! Really, you take away the play off's, and its by by British Speedway. My gripe is they are to late in the season and you run the risk with the Weather. Injuries you cannot help. mikebv
Harris and Garrity in for Lynn?? Â Get those 38 winner medals and 23 losers medals ready for the final!!!! Â At this rate both teams' Captains will be allowed to lift the trophy!!!! Â And to think, some believe Speedway in this country has a credibility problem and isn't taken seriously.... Â Can't think why, any thoughts anyone?? .... Edited October 8, 2014 by mikebv
Jacques
But you're a speedway fan, not a newbie. Â Â So what, anyone new will be used to pay off formats in other sports? Â To say it will put people off is nonsense and from what I can see it's only few of the more mature fans on here that don't like them. We also go over this every year, the play offs keep the season alive, the Bees have been involved in few now and there's nothing like them for tension, excitement. Â Long may they continue
SCB
But you're a speedway fan, not a newbie. Ok, how about this one... Â On Monday a friend took along another friend for his 2nd ever speedway meeting. He filled in a programme (badly some may say but he gave it a go!). He grasped the TR and asked, "why can't bother riders get double points" - not the usual alleged cry of "but that a farce". At one point we mentioned how Worky fans would be upset at Howarths score and he asked why so we briefly explained doubling up, he got it, it makes sense as we explained it as young riders be helped to move up a league. He enjoyed his night so much he asked at the end, "When is the final" so we informed him Monday to which he dejectedly informed us he couldn't make it. So we told him, not to worry the 2nd leg is Wednesday at Poole or King's Lynn. "Great!!" he replied, "can I come with you?" Â So a newbie, a second time to speedway person loved his play-off experience. Waxed lyrical about what he'd just seen and can't wait for his 2nd meeting. But no, the long term fans on here are calling it a farce, it must be.

My gripe is they are to late in the season and you run the risk with the Weather. Injuries you cannot help. So what would you do?, have the play-offs in July, before the season has ended? Mind you, if they did, your bunch would not be in it this season then. Let's see what "fat Maud" decrees at the Promoters Conference this year! stevebrum
 Nobody is blaming the riders for not riding, But the point is, why was there a hole in the track. and why didn't POOLE rectify the problem.  I'm sure Buster would have done. The truth being they wanted it cancelled to enable them to strengthen their team and enhance the chances of winning.  Lets see what their line-up is on Thursday.  The blue tints wont get it tho.   Here for those who think they know best is what THE BEST had to say   taken from the Eastern Daily Press. I've just put the relevant bits in bold  Now as Buster is acknowledged by just about everyone as the best track curator in the country, I think his opinion is more valid than anyone else's on this forum.  Well said Buster. Perhaps Poole aren't the golden club they want everyone to believe. There track prep leaves a lot to be desired.   Could Tai guest in both legs for either Poole/Kings Lynn in the final next week? Replacing Darcy or Niels.  If he wanted to yes, so could Zagar. Neither seem interested.

bruno
Just tried to explain this to my wife who hates speedway.I tried because she actually enjoyed the last gp and is looking forward to Saturday's gp in torun.however after trying to explain this farce I reckon her future support of speedway has just gone out the window

I swear speedway fans love going up to people and going, "you know speedway, it's rubbish. Heres why...." just tell her it's the play-off semi-final. If she's not all that into her speedway she probably won't even realise that Garrity and Harris are riding for different teams.
