Posf2 Poole V Kings Lynn

Recommended Posts

Harris and Garrity in for Lynn. Poole remain as they were with Milik back.

That's shot some of the Poole haters down in flames :D

There'd be bloody uproar if any of our riders were guesting for Poole :D

Completely ridiculous situation though, but it is what it is ...I thought I could sit back and enjoy this meeting tomorrow, but now I'm going to be worried about injuries, especially Jason, we all know what he can be like!

I reckon that teams who need guests in the playoffs, whether it be a semi or the final, should not be allowed to use a guest from any other team that has been involved in the playoffs.

Agree. What a stupid situation where Chris and Jason are riding for a team they could perhaps be facing next week in the final. No wonder people don't take Speedway seriously.

Apart from Batchelor then :)

Info was correct at time of posting. The point I was making was the Poole "haters" were insistent that Poole would change all their guests. They haven't, Lynn have.

I don't have a problem with that. If we must have guests it's only right that teams choose the best ones.

Should they be "cup tied" having ridden in the other semi. In an ideal world yes, but speedway isn't an ideal world.

The fans should get the best possible for their money. As clubs cannot afford squads, guests it has to be.

Let's face it, it's no more farcical than having no pre-arranged rain off date for a semi-final in a weather dependent sport in October  and a track not having any shale when hosting an important match with (in their eyes) a final still to come :P .

Just beat me to it :D

This "works" for Coventry but IMO, riders should be play-off-tied. Once you ride for a team in the play-offs you can ride for no other. Certainly not if it was your team your rode for in the play-offs. Guests are slightly different.

It won't work for Coventry if either get injured!

Agree about having riders cup-tied. It's a shame that so many guests are needed this year, but even so the guests should only come from the sides not in the play-offs.

I'm also a bit disappointed at the number of changes from Monday's teams. Unless a rider is unavailable (or injured), I don't see why there should be that many changes.

Stronger options I guess, would imagine Batchelor replaces King while Nicholls is rumoured to be on his way to Torun and Wright probably wants to concentrate on Friday with Somerset as he is carrying an injury and Garrity is stronger than Ellis.

Agree about cup-tying though, riders who race for a top four team shouldn't be able to guest once the Play Offs begin.

Nobody is blaming the riders for not riding, But the point is, why was there a hole in the track. and why didn't POOLE rectify the problem.

I'm sure Buster would have done. The truth being they wanted it cancelled to enable them to strengthen their team and enhance the chances of winning.

Lets see what their line-up is on Thursday. :t::t:

So Poole bringing in there own rider, who would of been riding in the meeting anyway if it wasn't for his national championship meeting, is strengthening up??? So by your reckoning if NKI declared himself fit to ride on Thursday, KL would be cheating by strengthening up?? So basically you would prefer Poole to ride with three guest riders rather than at least one more of their own 1-7??? Jeez ....you couldn't make it up could you!!!!!! Edited by scottyfan

I really think the exact same line ups from Monday should line up Thursday its totally unfair to change the original line ups had it not rained Monday this meeting would be history - how can two riders Harris and Garrity ride in one semi and there team make the final then turn out in the other semi and influence who there team face in the final try explaining that to none speedway fan

Now as Buster is acknowledged by just about everyone as the best track curator in the country, I think his opinion is more valid than anyone else's on this forum.

There's no doubt that Poole ballsed up this time, but Buster has had more than a couple of "moments" aswell.

Lynn are favorite's for me.

Harris in the playoffs is unbeatable and Garritty is the best reserve.

I think just recently Garrity has been a bit of a liability. Constantly over riding and throwing points away for fun. Sargent is Coventry's best reserve currently.

How many meetings have you watched with the 2 Coventry reserves? Although I agree Garrity has the tendency to over-ride, he has not thrown away many points. Sarjeant has definitely come good just at the right time for Coventry but I would still put Garrity as the best of the 2 reserves by some margin.

If I were to bet, I'd say Batchelor will replace Cook (ie for Ward) and Kennett will continue for Grajczonek, so that Cook would be available next week if necessary. King was guesting for Milik, who should now be available.

Fully agree about cup-tying, it's ridiculous that three of the fourteen riders will have appeared in both semis.

All track men have I expect. Buster hasnt for a good while though, and mainly just after the fall out with Huggy. The most high profile was the ELRC in 2007 but he was able to rectify that on the night.

The main thing that Buster has in his favour is the equipment at his disposal which few other tracks have. If he had created a hole last Monday and not been able to fill it I'd be just as critical, cocking it up for a Play Off meeting is pretty inexcusable.
