Edinburgh V Newcastle Koc Semi Final 1st Leg Fri 3 Oct 7.30pm

Newcastle will need a guest as Lewi Kerr has Tweeted he has done his scaphoid and that his season is over.

Gutted for the lad.

Hope the weather forecast improves!

Apparently Pijper now guests for Lewis. Unlucky Lewis for both his teams.

And, according to the Edinburgh website, Scott Robson is making a comeback (they must have been reading the Berwick E-Newsletter!! :P:shock::D ).

Mr Pijper should be ok as a guest for Lewi. Such a shame that the Kerrminator is crocked. He should spend his enforced absence wisely, perhaps he could get himself another tattoo :nono::lol: best wishes Lewis.

The remaining diamonds (Lewis Rose already out- R/R for him) can do well at Armadale. We have an In form Ludvig Lindgren and Danny King is going great guns, Stuart Robson will always pose a threat. Simon Neilsen at reserve plus AN Other. The Monarchs are a mighty obstacle to the Diamonds KOCup final hopes but who knows what the aggregate score will be? I think Monarchs will win at home then we will have to wait to see whether the diamonds can ride their home track better than the Monarchs who always go well at Brough.

Ha after a few of these :drink: I am going for the Diamonds to sneak it on aggregate

Rain has been steady 10 minutes from the track all morning. They have got covers on the track though so hopefully that will help. The rain is supposed to go off around 1/2 o'clock so hopefully the covers will do the trick and we will have some speedway tonight

3pm Update.

THREE O'CLOCK UPDATE Friday 3 October 2014, 15:09 UK BY TOBY LERONE Tonight's Knock Out Cup semi final between the Scotwaste Monarchs and the Newcastle Diamonds at Armadale this evening remains very much ON.

As the forecast suggested, the rain of late morning and early afternoon has now clear east leaving track staff almost five hours to get the track in shape for tonight's match.

The track was covered overnight in an attempt to overcome the predicted deluge. It wasn't a problem as the deluge didn't arrive. In fact it remained dry in Armadale until mid morning. Since we have experienced some patchy rain and some bursts of heavier rain but there has not been sufficient of the wet stuff to cause us a problem.

The Scotwaste Monarchs will be attempting to secure as big a lead as possible to take to the second leg at Newcastle on 12th October.

Edinburgh Monarchs ‏@EdinMonarchs 14m14 minutes ago

After yet another forecasting failure by @metoffice, tonight's match against @diamondspeedway has been postponed

Find it hard to believe where Edinburgh get there forecasts, never seen any that didn't suggest the wet weather was coming back in this evening(if it ever stopped in most of the Lothians).probably gambled with it being Newcastle and fairly local opposition. How many times this season have they said Definately On only to call off late on.
