Arson fire
Yes but none of those stated they would like to see Redcar shutdown, like Worrall did in the Speedway Star - would refuse to watch a Bears side if that scumbag ever signed for us. the scumbag is the grown man who shouted ' i hope your dead' as he lay prone on the shale!!!
junior fan
would have liked rob branford at workington in his early days can remember him riding after the meeting looked really good some riders look promosing at a young/early stage then go backwards slightly before finding there adult feet Think you might be correct. Victorian under 21s on the weekend at Albury. Winner Rob Branford Second Max Fricke Third Jack Holder Fourth Jack Fallon Junior
RedcarRacer
the scumbag is the grown man who shouted ' i hope your dead' as he lay prone on the shale!!! But then again, you COULD argue, that if you turn right every time you come out of the start at the STMP, your going to end up on the shale at some point. Nobody condones that behaviour, but by the same token a professional speedway rider going on record stating he wanted a club to go bust - well that is a low as his own dirty tactics... BEARS FOREVER, WORRALL NEVER!

RedcarRacer
I know that but it would be nice to have a challenging side, rather than cast-off's. It's very doubtful that they'd get him anyway, unless a third party was prepared to bankroll him, Havelock certainly wouldn't spend more than the bare minimum on riders, even if he had it. With this consortium we are never going to be a challenging side, we all know that - the only time we ever did really well in recent years was when we got really lucky with Mickey Dyer, and that was pure luck as nobody else made him an offer - and then that same season and because of the penny pinching we didnt make a change to keep Dyer at reserve for another month which would have got us in the play-offs - the consortium are making money, they are happy - so they clearly think they dont need to spend anymore more money, which as we know is very annoying to most Bears fans. I'm pretty sure that a side of young hopefuls would pull more in than some of the riders they've had recently, crowds are down because people have no hope. If the consortium is exactly as you say (I only knew Brian and it was in his grass tracking days)then the Bears are nothing more than a circus act. It seems pointless carrying on if you aren't prepared to compete.
RedcarRacer
Dream on. The Consortium have turned down more than one approach in the past 12 months from more than one party - hmmmm, why would you keep a business that is losing money when given the chance to cash in? Answer, you wouldn't. The 2015 vintage has all the makings of being the cheapest septet yet! Which in itself is some achievement. (Summers i think it was) steamed inside him off bend 4 and into his racing line down the home straight Leaving him nowhere to go entering turn one. He's hardly going to make gracious comments given the stick he got/gets.... If you are going to give it... It might be cheap but Robbo would walk in to any team I was putting together and Skidmore is capable of scoring big points on his day I'd be pretty happy if we had signed them Robbo especially. I am not saying I would not have Robson, but his average is only going one way and hopefully he will be at 5 to keep him away from the big hitters but I have a horrible feeling he will be our no 1 and if he is, god help us. And Skidmore, hasnt he dropped his average every year since he arrived? Solid number 2 - nothing more, nothing less.
TheScotsman
How does being at 5 keep him away from the big hitters? He faces the same heat leaders the same number of times in his scheduled rides as the number 1 does.
Bash
That's exactly what I said on the Ipswich thread after some posters were saying it is easier riding at number 5. The only difference is you are not out in heat 1.

Sometimes you wonder whether Care in the Community schemes actually work with some posters on the BSF. TheScotsman
Gate positions could have some impact either way. Some nights / some tracks outside is better than inside and vice versa.
