Arson fire
Probably agreed a 2 year deal, paid for the first year, then at the AGM talked about the agreement to confirm the second year deal was still on. Verbally or not, the next step would have been to do the loan deal papers for Havvy to sign, but he changed his mind. It was Havvy that changed his mind, not Berwick. so if you agree a 2 year loan deal, why is it only done year on year??....whats the point in agreeing 2 years if it has to be re visited or issued in 12 month?? Or If kus had been woeful last season and say averaged 3..... Would berwick still have to take up the 2nd year option?? Its a daft way of doing business, (2 years)... Esp if its not binding?? Heedthebaw
I don't know where this talk of Matej Kus being on a 2 year contract with Berwick came from, I spoke to Matej and Ian Rae early on this year when it was first suggested, and they both told me that was NOT the case. It was as is normal a ONE YEAR deal.

Most definitely NOT the case though, some people put things on here because they like to think they are in the know.

Most definitely NOT the case though, some people put things on here because they like to think they are in the know. Probably the best post ........ever. Do you drink Carlsberg? Didn't Bjarne Pedersen sign one with Birmingham and was out of there practically before the first year had finished and going even further back I remember Tom Owen supposedly signing a "lifetime" contract for Newcastle and he was at Stoke around a year later Edited December 7, 2014 by KEITH M
Fromafar
I am quite sure if Kus wanted to ride only for the Bandits next year he would have been at Shielfield.

Boothers
Bit unfair on RR - he is nowhere near as supercilious as Tsunami. Crikey. Never thought I'd see the day when a Bears fan used the word supercilious in a post on the BSF. Hold your head up proud Yearby! screm
Aye he didn't seem to put up much of a fight to be fair Had Havelock gone through with his threat to go for a transfer only with Matej, there was a very real possibility that he wouldn't have found a job over here, there was an offer of employment at Redcar so Kus took it, time will tell if he made the right decision.

Whiteliner
Maybe Berwick can thrash out another 2 year deal for Summers.
foamfence
Maybe Berwick can thrash out another 2 year deal for Summers. Brian wrote that he didn't blame Summers for leaving, as he had received a very good offer, so it looks as if any deal has already been done. Bagpuss
"in the interests of Newcastle and Notts Forest". I wouldn't get caught calling them that by a Forest fan! Nott'm the only abbreviation permitted
RedcarRacer
You got it in a nut shell, and what I pointed out from the start, hence..." Yes I agree, some fans were frustrated". HalifaxTigers point of " The Redcar fans" is wrong, it was "some Redcar fans". Every club has the same few fans. Redcar have RedcarRacer and the like, Newcastle have Tsunami. I have been one of Matej Kus's biggest fans and have been since the day he arrived. I am delighted to have him back and I for one never wanted us to let him go. And for anyone to suggest Matej had no support from Redcar, through his bad times is lunacy, but again considering who it is - not surprising.
Falcon Hammer
Can't blame Havelock for going back on an agreement with Berwick; after all Glasgow have taken 3 of his top riders (Lawson, Summers & Kozza) - Guy needs to put a team together... Falcon Hammer
Not sure if the Summers deal will happen now. Redcar can't fit him in now, so Glasgow should get him on loan, unless there's another club willing to buy him. Reckon it might drag tho
