Redcar 2015.

Recommended Posts

Hope Morley has a great season at Redcar, been knocking on the door without much luck at a PL team spot for the last couple of seasons.

Just to be pedantic though he was a full time Rocket a few years ago so to say he has no PL experience isn't strictly true.

Pretty much the best left out there if we were going down the British 3 pointer route, so happy enough.

Does leave us a little bit weak in the tail, with pressure on Rafal at reserve and Jan in the main body. Still, speedway isn't raced on paper so roll on the first meeting!

Ben showed he can beat quality riders last year at lakeside his average round there was higher than Adam Ellis And he excells on small tracks..A couple of seasons ago he filled in for the second part of the season at Rye House Rockets and recorded around 5.25 average there. and was unlucky to miss out this season at both Rye and Lakeside where the fans loved him ..He will always give 100% effort and i wish him well for the season..This is an opportunity to take with both hands..

I'd say there's more pressure on Morley as he'll be the one carrying Konopka probably!

he tends to fly at the lakeside track ( he lives just up the road so has probably done thousands of laps there) but his away form was terrible, around two points i think. He really needs to hit the ground running

As you say Ben does fly around Lakeside and took the scalps of a few decent riders last year. His overtaking last season of Belle Vue pair Ritchie Worrall & Stefan Nielsen after being shoved out wide on the 1st bend was an excellent achievement for one so young. He's home average at Lakeside was just under 8 points per meeting and although he did struggle away from Purfleet, It was the 1st time he had even seen some of these EL tracks let alone ride them but he always gave it 100%.

Given the opportunity he will be able to score the points for the Bears once he is dialed into the South Tees track. He has excellent machinery and is always immaculatly turned out.

One thing for sure is that Ben is a very popular & likeable young lad with both riders & fans at whatever club he has ridden for & will do an excellent job for the Bears.

Ben's highlight of last season must of been on 15th August at Lakeside v Belle Vue.

Scored a 4 ride paid Maximum (2,3,3,3) and beat a certain R. Worrall twice.

Great 2nd race, one of the biggest roars of the season. Pushed wide T1/2 by Worrall - then last to 1st - Great stuff

Went to a well attended and well organised Bears social last night, Last years rider of the year Hugh Skidmore was in attendance, as was a rider from the past, Peter Spink, The social was to assist Hugh with some income for the coming season and Im sure he was pleased with the amount. Well done to all who were there, most people won something during the event, but I will never ever back any more Donkeys wearing number bloody 6

To be honest I didn't know much about Ben Morley. but reading some of the comments, I'm looking forward to seeing him round the STMP, it should suit him, might be a better season Than I hoped!!!
