EnglishRoundabout
I actually thought ER,tonight would of been easier for the scorpions they have been unlucky generally with injuries having lost Birks,Douglas, Klintd.Edinburgh win it for me certainly now with no Kurtz for Somerset,it will be good to watch though. About time you got yourself along to the OTA Sidders. You are missing some cracking racing their this season.
Super Blue
So the Witches failing to capitalize against half a Somerset team on Thursday and again tonight against a patched up Scunthorpe means the group is pretty much over leaving the Southern smugs to take on the official ones from north of the border in the final ! To be honest though , 1st v 2nd is probably the fairest final to have anyway .
Baldyman
sounds like a frustating nights watching for you Baldyman. Very disappointed that we fell just short. Rohan EF in 13 cost us a point although I dont think that wouldve been enough anyway given the race point position. Dont think anyone will give us a prayer at Somerset. Definitely the Rebels to lose now! Witches progress now would take a miracle of huge proportions. he did engine fail at all, he was sitting on the wrong piece of track like he did all night and one went around him and one up the inside at the same time, and instead of sticking his elbows out or fighting it out, he lost his bottle and shut off letting them both past, he then gave up, no engine failure involved there sounds like a frustating nights watching for you Baldyman. The only 2 people brave enough to properly race the track was Worrall and Hawkins.

Knowle
Super win for Scunthorpe. Backs to the wall stuff and in my opinion, against the odds. Just a home win required now for the Rebels! [ Its not JUST a home win. Its got to be a minimum of 7 points difference./quote]
Bash
Ipswich need to lose by less than six points to go through on points difference. Easy!!! given that some Somerset fans claim that they have no home advantage even though they regularly rack up 60+ points

Albert
Enjoyable meeting (from a Scunny perspective).. I guess Ipswich fans will be a tad disappointed with that performance and perhaps rightly so. The Scorps we were there for the taking and on the night Ipswich just wasn't good enough to take advantage. They were in contention most of the meeting but fell away towards the end ... only providing four race wins against a depleted home side....and... I guess you would expect more from Tungate, he looked good in heat 1 then simply faded. As for Scunny.. Our three regular riders did us proud, Howe, Jorgy and an unwell Auty took the fight to Ipswich...Ricky Wells did a great job as did fellow guests Wilko and Williamson, they all chipped in with some important race wins. In all, a good meeting with some cracking racing... a great win for Scunny, one which was no doubt well received in Somerset..
Halifaxtiger
thank you, some people just think I make stuff up for the hell of it I did the updates tonight and while I first thought Tungate was passed on the inside and outside at the same time I thought it could only be down to slowing with engine problems when he stopped immediately afterwards. It never occurred to me for a single second that he was passed and merely gave up and bumped onto the centre green (to be fair, he certainly didn't give up in heat 15). That's because it is absolutely incredible - given the importance of the meeting in general and that race in particular - that a rider would do such a thing and I can only wonder what the reaction of his team mates, the management and promotion of Ipswich and its fans would be to such an action. Personally, I'd be bloody furious and it will be interesting to see what is in the Witches match report. Enjoyable meeting (from a Scunny perspective).. I thought it was out of the top drawer Wilkinson's attempt to protect Williamson and Howe and Auty's brilliant passes of Worrall were capped by an amazing heat 15, which was probably one of the best races I have seen this season. It was a performance of real guts and effort by the Scorpions, and their supporters should be proud of them. The only sadness was the attendance, which didn't look good. Rob Godfrey puts on an excellent show - with cracking racing, limited delays and quality presentation - and if he can't attract gates then there is genuine cause to fear for the future of the sport. Arch Stanton
I did the updates tonight and while I first thought he was passed on the inside and outside at the same time I thought it could only be down to slowing with engine problems when he stopped immediately afterwards. Personally, I'd be bloody furious. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest where Tungate is concerned. Earlier in the season he actually admitted (stupidly) that he turns up to some away meetings with a half ar$ed attitude and struggles for motivation. I was very surprised to see the latest greensheets have Tungate's average now above the 8 point mark, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole next year on that figure. Roland
Tungate didn't give up, it was ignition failure.......fact!

The crowd did seem down somewhat tonight, not surprising really given our injuries and our dead play off situation... I actually didn't think the crowd was that bad tonight, I expected worse to be honest. Out of contention in the play-offs, nothing at stake for the home fans, it was simply a case of 'stay at home and save your money' time'.. Shame cos those that did stay away missed a cracker. Baldyman
It was still going when he rode it back to the pits, and normally with ignition failure it will make a pop and spit a flame out the back. All I and others saw was him overtaken then you could see him shut off, if slowed down then after race had finished he rode it into the pits Tungate didn't give up, it was ignition failure.......fact!From that comment I take it you are his mechanic? Hel'n'Back
Used to love going to Scunthorpe on a Sunday afternoon and that's the problem now with it being run on a Friday night, traffic a nightmare on M1/M18/M180 which puts me off! If Scunthorpe ran their meetings on a Sunday afternoon like they did with NL then I would be a regular visitor, but Friday nights is a no go for me
montie
Top draw racing that, feared without Klindt,Birks and Douglas and Auty spewing we would get turned over tonight.Dont think ive ever see a team throw away point scoring positions as Ipswich did tonight,i know its hard to defend at the EWR but still...Some quiet brilliant passes by David Howe in the big heats Heat 15 was top draw..shame someone had to run a last in that one as none of them deserved to!
