Dave Stummings
And that bit of fence does get hit pretty often Can't be a poor crowd, as the play offs are meant to draw bigger crowds. It's not a bad crowd since season tickets holders have to pay. Season ticket holders have to pay! That's discusting.

2ndbendbeerhut
Crowd certainly picked up towards start time. Â Season tickets only include league matches
TheScotsman
Pretty poor in the end after a good start although I will probably be in the minority and be slated for saying it! We definitely should have hit 60+ against what was left of the Rebels after ht1. Â Some decent performances but poor Gino is only looking a shadow of the rider he was earlier in the season. Â Personally, quite disappointed that we didn't fully capitalise when this group could possibly come down to race points. Â Nuff said, now waiting to get mullered for my opinion. I agree. Should have been well over 60 points scored. Let Somerset off the hook. Racing was pretty poor I thought - but it has been every time I've been to Ippo this year, including all 3 matches v Somerset. Â Certainly all the heat changes, partly due to Allen's withdrawal (really innocuous looking fall), made it a long haul - so many 2 rides in succession situations. Baldyman
Like you superblue, I thought once Allen was out and with starke and aspgren performing poorly to start with, we should easily have hit 60. Has gino got anything else left to ride tomorrow? Another great performance from Worrall, he was a class above for 5 heats. As for the crowd, I wouldn't have said it was anything special, but it certainly wasn't poor, about the norm I would have said. Â So basically we have to at least somehow get a draw or better tomorrow, cos we all know how bad we are at Somerset. Hoping to watch the lads put on their best ever Scunthorpe performance tomorrow.
whowasthatberntpersson
First visit for quite a number of years, Very impressed with the venue (stadium), and quite a decent turnout I thought. However the racing was very poor, after the second bend, it was real follow the leader stuff...even the dominant Witches couldn't pass. Worrall so impressive when he made the start was totally out of the race after missing the start for the first time in heat 15. I've said it a number of times lately but this is yet another case of speedway shooting itself in the foot. The Ipswich track is set up for Witches riders with real racing taking a distant second place.
TheScotsman
Totally agree. Â Mind you some of the lines tried by Somerset were a bit baffling!!
2ndbendbeerhut
Meeting was probably one of the worst in recent weeks but Rebels being depleted and never doing well didn't help. As for season ticket holders not attending. Yes I know some and also know quite a few that don't buy them on not getting any real value/discount
Jonny the spud
Bearing in mind most speedway fans have a pen on them ( for filling in programmes) how about CL fitting in a questionnaire on a separate piece of paper and slipping it in a programme. Fans could drop it in a box as they leave and hey presto. Without any real effort on the clubs part you have a survey of people who go week in week out from which you could formulate next years business plan ....
Jonny the spud
I do an internal audit ( asking customers opinions) And an external audit ( looking at my competitors) every three months. It let's me know what I'm doing right / wrong plus I get to "borrow" any ideas from my competitors that I think I can work with. Â It's not rocket science
Baldyman
Now apparently i am someone that always sticks the boot in when I can and always makes something out of nothing, so this would be another perfect opportunity. Sorry but I am going to disappoint. It's very hard to get the Ipswich track as good as some others for racing, because the dirt line can never be built up due to the fence always having to be taken down and the dirt taken off due to all the car racing. So basically you are getting a new track every meeting, so personally I think a great job is done with the track. Okay, last night's meeting was pretty much gate and go, which you get on most tracks from time to time. Add that together with last night's opposition and it was always more than likely to be a borefest. XWe do have some really good racing sometimes, but last night was just not that night.
Steve Irving
That's pretty standard just about everywhere these days, mostly processional racing with a scattering of good meetings here and there. Â Interestingly, even well respected race tracks like Kings Lynn have come under fire in recent times, mostly by their own supporters, for producing mainly poor racing.
Baldyman
Let's hope the racing is good tonight on what's meant to be one of the best racing tracks. I'm sure this has been suggested before, although not for a while. Such an easy thing to do aswell, but I don't see it happening unless it's done unofficially. Bagpuss
Unless you are fortunate enough to watch your speedway at Scunny, Somerset Plymouth or Peterborough I think races from the gate are the norm nowadays with the odd decent heat thrown in.
