bigred
Meeting wad abandoned due to the 10.30 curfew. Cant believe we are all still on about the incident. if it were one of your precious "heathen" riders or mechanics knocked unconscious and hospitalised it would be talked about for years as you do with the roynan/Nielsen incident. And the curfew WAS due to "the incident" caused by greaves jnr & snr. Hope they get the OMMERING they deserve.

WembleyLion
Can I ask why Phillips has been summoned? What his part? From what I saw I assume the charge will be assault. Edited October 3, 2014 by WembleyLion
TMW
From what I saw I assume the charge will be assault. Blimey did he get involved as well? Or was that a separate incident? Edited October 4, 2014 by TMW

vog
Well, as much as we like to criticise the SCB/BSPA, I think they have got this spot on. Fined around a meetings worth of wages, and big bans suspended. They will all learn, they will behave themselves and everyone can move on from it.

SCB
Now let's move on. The SCB have IMO got it right, let's hope the 3 lads have learnt from it and can ALL go in to bigger and better things. All clearly very talented. Studland Bee
In my opinion this decision is fair considering the age of the riders involved. I was there and witnessed the on track events and subsequent disorder on the Rugby bend, although from a distance as I was in the upper stand bar. I had a clear view of the start line. I believe the start marshall should have been stronger and not allowed Greaves to stay in the position where he infringed on gate one. The referee was also weak and should not have allowed the start when all was not right and tensions were high. These young riders were ultimately let down by some of those around them who as elders should have known better and defused the situation rather than get involved as aggressors. Yes its easy to say, but I have experience in this area and have seen similar situations before. Like others have said, I hope these young riders learn from this which I am sure they will. I have the utmost respect for Tony Gillias a man who is best placed with life experience and a speedway background to oversee these proceedings.
Hamish McRaker
So has any action been taken against the referee, who from the opinions of many could have done more to nip the problem in the bud (maybe he was more concerned about getting 10 heats completed)? And what about the management of the teams involved (especially Cradley) for their overall responsibility? Scot-free? That carpet at BSPA/ACU HQ must be getting pretty lumpy, with everything that it's had swept under it. Needs a bit of blood spilling over it perhaps!! But what do i know........bugger all

TitusTokio
Good to see Nigel Pearson supporting Nathan here http://www.swindonlinksport.com/swindon_sports_news/timetosupportnathan He stops short on commenting on the incident itself or the punishment but the points he makes are very valid.
