Gazc
So Kozza Smith doesn't fir the criteria then! hope Glasgow have a back up plan. Im sure we have but haven't seen anything announced that he has been refused yet think i will wait on official confirmation rather than hearsay. It's not hearsay, he doesn't match the criteria the BSPA posted on their website this morning. Alan_Jones
Could that not be interpreted as the previous season that rider rode in Uk. Just asking! Â It could, but that's not what it says. Gazc
It's not hearsay, he doesn't match the criteria the BSPA posted on their website this morning. Â Â Â http://speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.28430 As i say i will await official confirmation from the club before they need a plan B if indeed that is what happens but i take your point on the statement i personally have wondered how he would meet the required criteria set out as he missed last season & hasn't participated in state championships. Â Alex Davies & Kozza seem to be pretty similar cases and as previously stated in another thread it is hard to see how they can get a visa as they do not meet the criteria but we shall wait and see what the final outcome shall be. MD
think Max is agood announcer and knowledgeable about the sport but tends to get carried away with home team bias and sticks his oar in on too much.Good luck to him though. Â Good post, you would think though that with the club having a once in a lifetime relaunch we could start afresh. Presenters have to be visually presentable, as well as bearing in mind they are announcing to everyone in the crowd not just the home fans. It can be embarrassing at times especially from the announcers box, who knows what away fans think never mind any newbies. Lets hope for a more slick and professional presentation to kick start our new era at the end of the month.
MANSE
I would think that most centre green announcers are talking to about 95 per cent of their own fans wouid hope its a bit bias. The box announcer is their to announce the referees instructions i believe and any club announcements plus requests Edited March 4, 2015 by MANSE

tyretrax
I like Stewart Dickson's idea that each club puts say £1,000 into a pot which would go to the team that wins the league.

I'm sure you like it, it ain't your money. Glasgow go from being potless to gambling away a grand in the space of a few months. That's new money for ya

That's new money for ya I understand where both are coming from , but it's a joke that there isn't substantial prize money for league success . Must be the only sport in the world where the financial implications for doing well can be crippling

I wouldn't feel sorry for someone who buys a car they can't afford on finance then can't keep up the repayments from day one, would you? Same principle applies here IMO. MANSE
What has buying a car got to do with winning a league title. In most sports their is a renumeration package for winning the league or event
jenga
suddenly there is a lot of money in speedway thousands of pounds for winners and jack sh/t for the losers. it was only last season clubs were only breaking even and in glasgows case, losing money . Â ask the new promoters at glasgow about the thousand pound pot at the end of the season when they have forked out all that cash on rides/renovations ect and see if they still want to donate. Â speedway needs to survive and not give money away. Â if any track is feeling generous, DROP THE ENTRY PRICE and attract more paying customers in. looking forward to hearing about the 4/5 thousand speedway fans turning up at glasgow in the first few months of the season. there isnt that many fans attending each week at glasgow/berwick/edinburgh/newcastle/workington and redcar in the nornal weeks attendance figures..L.M.FAT .A.O...
ekimba
Looks like the wolves are circling already, any chance to have a dig at Glasgow and their "New Money" FFS the guy made a suggestion about a prize pot, get a grip people. Â Glasgow fans I feel sorry for you already and the season has not started yet, you are going to get hounded any time the slightest controversy happens, it will be "aye where is your new money now" or such like, just turn the other cheek and don't rise to them. I think what is happening through there is brilliant and most fans would love it to be there team in that place just now, enjoy while you can. Â P.S. in case anybody wonders I still want them to finish second to us in everything
MANSE
Where have Glasgow said 4/5 thousand per meeting i think they are looking at 1500 for the fist meeting.Maybe you should have said in the first month
Ben91
What has buying a car got to do with winning a league title. In most sports their is a renumeration package for winning the league or event It's simple logic, if you win the league but are over stretching your financial capabilities then you shouldn't be putting an expensive team together in the first place, remuneration or none. And then you deserve to go out of business tbh. Glasgow have deep pockets this year and they're building a team they can afford. Edinburgh however announced they made a loss after winning the title, some could say that's because they were living beyond their means, same as Newport after they pulled out all the stops to win the ko cup.
