wonder why all clubs do not get together and do a season ticket deal so if you buy a season ticket with one club you can bring it to any other club and use it at a reduced entry fee to any away club

a few clubs did try this a couple of years ago working with each other and offering a discount to away fans from the other clubs who agreed

Somerset have given me - a Devils season ticket holder - a discount whenever I attended the OTA last season (provided the Devild aren't the visitors). While this was only when I enquired about it by E-Mail they were happy to oblige; fair play to a forward thinking promotion.

Bit of a trip from Scotland though!

Must admit, I go to their place more than others due to convenience and just wonder sometimes if they really do appreciate just how many Tigers visit outside our derby matches in comparison to the hardcore speedway fans from Armadale who visit us?

Its been like that throughout my time watching speedway, during much of the Powderhall era, the Monarchs were notoriously poor travellers to Shawfield though were a bit better at Craighead Park. They did go through a renaissance during the early years of Armadale, packing out the fourth bend shed but that's going back a few years now.

That's why I'm still astounded at the non reciprocal nature of our followers who I understand still travel through to Armadale in decent numbers. And for a gubbing. By heat 6!

It is however part of the general trend in speedway that fans no longer really travel to away matches, just that the Mon's started the trend!

Agreed. I've noticed a distinct decline in the away fans at Rye House in recent times

TBH.... food and general state of track put me off Rye last season and ive done Rye before, prefer to go to tracks that haven't ventured too yet, sadly all down to money.

Can't say I've ever been put off travelling away due to the catering facilities and track prep. Money is the key here.

I used to attend Ashfield fairly regular (once a month). Didnt manage at all last season and only once previous. Just more convenient/easier to visit Berwick if I fancy an away track now since I moved. That and meetings tended to drag on and racing was poor (although heard last season was better). Im looking forward to first meet next season in a new look stadium and team, I will certainly make he effort to head through for the first meet nxt year.

Agree that travelling through for monarchs meets just didnt have same appeal when we seem to face each other every month.

Great to hear such positives at Glasgow. Mention should be made of the continued mentoring of Gordon Pairman, who although not domiciled here and his involvement in another promotion, continues to play such an outstanding role in keeping Glasgow Speedway afloat and continuing. Top man.

Can't wait for the Diamonds visit this year.

Sounds very promising and they sound as though they want to make some big investment in both the sports running at Ashfield, got to be good for the area.

Mind you with the surname of Facenna, that sounds very Italian, maybe some of the Monarch's fans should be watching out otherwise they might find a horses head on their pillow.

Woooooooooo! :party::party::party:

I've never been so excited for anything in my LIFE! What awesome news to end the year.

I really do hope the investment by the Facenna's reaps them great rewards. As others have mentioned, if speedway becomes profitable in Glasgow then it could give potential investors nationwide the confidence to invest in other teams. It could be the beginning of something great and I know and trust the new owners to do everything in their power to make this a success.

Roll on March! Cannot wait. :drink:
