Whiteliner
Footballers are very different, they sign contracts for long periods, speedway riders sign a contract for 1 year. Footballers receive years of training from the clubs that they belong to. Once a riders contract is finished he becomes a free agent just like the footballers Bosman ruling. He should then be free to negotiate a deal with any team he wants to.
MANSE
I stand corrected Mr Blobby. I await your facts and figures for the 5 teams i named to back up your reply
Gazc
Illegal. End of story really. Naughty Glasgow and from what ive heard Havvy is happy to hang Aaron and Glasgow out to dry although Aaron may have an EL spot lined up so all isnt lost. Hardly leaving Glasgow out to dry though is it we just move on and sign another rider if Havvy wants to play hardball shame for Summers but if he has potential EL spot then at least it is something and Havvy get's a loan fee.  Way i see it if Havvy wants to spit the Dummy continually as he did with Berwick on Kus and as he is now with us on Summers then sooner or later the what goes round saying comes into play and other clubs will  A, Not want to deal with him at all B. Deal with him but playing hardball as he is  He needs to be careful on how he does thing's and how he deals with other clubs now or it may come back to bite him in the future as other clubs will also be taking note , The my way or no way attitude is not how to do it IMO . If this is correct then why has glasgow offered 12k for summers to redcar  If no one owns summers then surely glasgow would have announced he is riding for them in 2015 ? And that is 12k too much we or nobody else should be paying anything for free agent's and as MD has said it only takes one rider or club to challenge this prehistoric assets system and it blows it out the water.
Whiteliner
One thought is that with 2015 being the last year of the lease at Redcar, maybe Havelock is looking for as much money as possible before he bows out.

screm
With the stance taking by Havelock over Kus and now Summers, you get the feeling that it could very well come back to bite him.

mac101
I think if anybody took their contract to any lawyer in the land they would chuck it in the bin do they pay them 12 month wages and when they drop them do they still pay their wages don't think so , they only pay points money really this is something that was set up in the dark ages not like footballers they get paid wages every week of their contract and when its over they say goodbye or offer hem another contract will just need to see what happens
tyretrax
Â Vissing rides in Poland so it would take a cracking deal from Glasgow for him to give up on that. Ah, but as everyone on here knows Glasgow just give the riders more money than other teams offer.

Bellers101
Whilst not being a big fan of Brian Havelock I can see his point regarding the Summers/Glasgow situation. Â His 2014 no1 Lawson leaves and joins Glasgow, nothing he could do about that as Richard was on loan. Â He then has a deal in principle with Kozza Smith for 2015 only for Glasgow to blow that out of the water. Â Then to rub salt into the wounds the Tigers tap up his skipper and club asset Summers allegedly offering silly money. Therefore Glasgow try to sign his potential 2015 top 3. Easy to see why he has dug his heels in over Aaron. Â Personally as a Bears follower im disappointed we don't have Smith but not concerned about Lawson and Summers. Lawson missed too many meetings due to his EL commitments and Summers is too inconsistent. More than happy with their replacements.

proud panther
Summers will be at Glasgow, because money talks, & Havelock is very shrewd when it comes to money.

A well reasoned post if that is what happened - and there is nothing to suggest its not  After all we were quick to call foul over the way the Bellego situation was handled (more ins and outs than the hokey cokey) - cant have it both ways.  However I also think that Glasgow would be wrong to pay even half the money being quoted, not for Summers imo (that should ensure he finishes the PL as no 1 lol)
