SCB
So the new promorion have bought the speedway club AND the stadium? Or just bought the club and are doing work on a stadium they lease? which seems more likely to littler old me.

RedcarRacer
Surely this new promotion must be looking towards EL - I bet the BSPA are already looking closely, a Scottish side would be huge boost to top flight.

Popular Post proud panther
Good luck to Glasgow Speedway & it's supporters. What a nice change to read a positive story regarding a speedway club.
tyretrax
Maybe they are just puting something back into the community that i believe that they grew up in.
smod
Please be assured that I am hugely excited and entirely supportive about everything planned for 2015. Any change of ownership is to do with the continuation of Glasgow speedway, not waiting for a cheque Fair enough Mister P. But you didn't quite address the point. Are you still the owner of Glasgow Tigers or has any purchase of the promotion now been signed, sealed and delivered?

mac101
Think they own enough land around the area to built a few houses and superstores if they wanted too so won't need to use ashfield also they are one of the biggest company's around the Glasgow area with over 800 employees and have been in springburn for around 35 years as I did work experience for them when they started their first garage/recovery business around 1980 and see the Tigers as another venture and with a good marketing team already in place they will make it work
Tsunami
or maybe they see a development opportunity - you know new houses or a big superstore Hardly when they are spending big money on the pits, bars, and hospitality. You wouldn't do that, it would be a waste of money. Wonder what will happen to the independent pub at the front gates. Possible car showroom ? Lioness
Surely this new promotion must be looking towards EL - I bet the BSPA are already looking closely, a Scottish side would be huge boost to top flight. Why would they? What will give bigger crowds and more revenue stream- PL wages and meetings against Worky, Newcastle, Berwick etc who tend to bring decent travelling support or EL wages with erratic fixtures against Poole, Eastbourne and Swindon who arent exactly local rivals? I'm not saying you are wrong, its just that I don't see the logic in it from a 'business' (used loosely) point of view as surely its better for them to have larger numbers through the turnstyles and for a larger proportion of those numbers to come from areas that their 'proper' business operate in? Just my thoughts

Gazc
I am sure when they are ready to announce there plans and what is happening in respect to the takeover off the club and stadium i am sure they will let us know in due course , Looks like this is a long term project with the amount they are investing in the team & also to improving the facilities at the stadium. It is exciting times for all concerned at the Tigers and at last we appear to have some stability we the Fans also have a part to play in turning up in numbers every week to let the new owners see that there is a fanbase in numbers and there is a sound footing to progress it. As Tsunami has stated they would not be investing in the Stadium if the plan was too develop it for another purpose from what we gather the work is pretty extensive and should make the viewing far more pleasurable for the supporters. After the last few seasons were it has been up & down and a bit off a roller coaster ride it is refreshing to have positive news regarding the club regardless off the knocker's it is looking good for the future Mon the Tigers.

Wonder what will happen to the independent pub at the front gates. Possible car showroom ? Bulldoze it and force much of the pond life who frequent it away from the speedway and its punters. During the summer months coming out the gate at the fourth bend into the secure car park, the speedway fans regularly get it from those sitting in the outside bit.
