jenga
could summers be out of the glasgow line up now ... will there be room for rusty or am i not in the loop. Edited December 6, 2014 by jenga
MD
Reading about the debacle with Kus going/not going to Berwick, seems Redcar will be looking for a transfer fee for Summers. Whilst transfer fees for riders are a complete load of nonsense, I still don't think Summers offers good value on 7.78 if that's who we are after. Rusty can't be fitted in at Worky and would be a decent signing, as would Theo on 7.20. Both would be riding without the pressure of having to win every heat and would more than cover our arse in heats 12 or 14. Please please no Summers.
crescent girl
Theo is on 7.09, Rusty on 6.50, well within required limit. Neither would be bank-busters, even if Tigers have actually bought the bank! Season ticket prices are very competitive by the way, very encouraging after previous seasons. If Havelock insists on a transfer fee i would say probably what is it with Havelock anyway seems to have a lot to say to the Local Rag about Glasgow and the money we are offering riders someone from Glasgow should have a word in his shell like to shut it.

We would be wasting a fair amount of points if we signed Rusty and the same with Theo, though.

What's your problem - it's freedom of press - so long as it is accurate then let everyone know the facts.

MD
We would be wasting a fair amount of points if we signed Rusty and the same with Theo, though. On the face of it yes, but AS is rotten at Ashfield and suspect at many tracks on the road so I wonder what it is we see in him. He is very good at Redcar but making Ashfield his home circuit wouldn't help us as a team to win all our home matches IMO. He has upped his average this year by 0.61 and I could see it only going down in joining Glasgow. Theo on the other hand has been over the course and will bring in points at every track, the only negative for him is disappearing for several weekends to that longtrack shyte. I've not heard if Rusty has retired but I would have him back should it be a no for TP. He is illustrious at home, fast and entertaining though can go missing on some away tracks, though like I said with 2 heatleaders above him in the riding order, the pressure is off. If Havelock insists on a transfer fee i would say probably what is it with Havelock anyway seems to have a lot to say to the Local Rag about Glasgow and the money we are offering riders someone from Glasgow should have a word in his shell like to shut it. The old boy is probably trying to cash in having heard rightly or otherwise that Glasgow are investing a few pounds. However he could end up shafting himself as no one pays transfer fees anymore and if the delay means Summers doesn't find a team, no loan fee either.

Where has he said you are paying too much?? latest report I have read simply states he offered Kozza a fantastic deal and Glasgow came and offered more can't see anything other than facts there - no opinion given on if it was too much just more than he was prepared to go to. End result Kozza goes to do same job for more money - I would imagine no-one blames him.
Gazc
It Was quoted in the article on Summers silly money was the phrase used by him anyway he would be better served concentrating on his team rather on what we are spending.
northyorksbear
It Was quoted in the article on Summers silly money was the phrase used by him anyway he would be better served concentrating on his team rather on what we are spending. Is that in your local press? In our rag comment on Summers was : The club who have made an approach to sign him are believed to have a big budget and are prepared to offer far more than the Bears could put on the table. “I don’t blame Aaron,” said Havelock, who confirmed the Bears had offered terms to Summers for 2015. “If you’re walking down the road and a bloke comes up to you and says ‘do you want to do the same job on the other side of the road for £10 an hour more’, what are you going to do? Again not stating it was too much just more than Bears. But if it is a quote I haven't seen then I stand corrected

Issue Gazc has isn't "freedom of press", it's the content of the conversation a person is allegedly having with them.
Steve55
Who really cares about the money at this time of the year. Looking at the six you've got, with 8 points left for your seventh rider and one of the best young Brits' as one of your reserves, Glasgow fans must really be looking forward to next year. Will be a side thats' invincible at home and more than capable on the road, with 'racers' throughout should be entertaining where ever they are riding. Expect them to be competitive at Sheffield especially if they do sign Summers!
foamfence
Silly money was his quote were and when who knows as i say he has named Glasgow on two separate occasions why he feels the need to name a club on there policy on paying riders or potentially paying riders because would he really know the details off the offer is beyond me. Well he knows what he offered Kozza Smith and claims it was more than he's ever paid out before, they agreed terms and then Glasgow trumped it. So maybe he's a bit peeved by that and made sure he didn't get suckered twice when he stuffed Berwick.

Fromafar
Lawson is not a racer. Dam good gater mind. What a lot of rubbish, he gates and then goes faster than most riders for 4 laps,he's not hanging around on all shapes of tracks, doesn't do "Fisher" and fall on his ar#e once a meeting (everybody calls him a racer ).Most Teams would take him if they had the chance.
mikebaker
My definition of a racer is someone who passes frequently, and are not reliant on there gating skills. Imo Lawson does not fit in that criteria.
