steven101
According to our new averages (effective on saturday) dugard is back in for cottham permanently. Georgie moves into main body of the team and matty bates has now dropped down to reserve. If georgie not fit we will need a guest for one of him and rich. catinthehat
Just looked at the new averages. Bradley Wilson-Dean 10.38 Ben Hopwood 8.52 Marc Owen 7.00 George Wood 6.42 Richard Andrews 6.35 Mattie Bates 5.38 Kelsey Dugard 4.96 I can see why they kept Brad and didnt go for Branden Johnson, Where are all the critics now BWD is top of the averages, means that Martin and Connor had got it right and took a lot of stick for it, now all we need for the club is some silverware. looking at the team with Mattie at reserve we will have a few good meetings and lets hope that Georgie is fit ASAP. so a guest for R/R and a Guest could make us even stronger. catinthehat
Islander put this: Phillips, Chessell, Knuckey or Chapman for Andrews and use R/R for Wood which lets Owen take a ride. Or Priest for Wood and Andews R/R. They're the best looking options imo. Not sure who to go for as they are all as good as each other but not really a replacement for woods, R/R and Philips would be my choice.

catinthehat
Just got this off the Eastbourne website. Eastbourne Speedway press release Saturday night speedway returns to Arlington this week as the IT First Eastbourne Eagles take on Kent in the second leg of the KO Cup semi-final. The Eagles will be without free-scoring Georgie Wood who has a leg injury. Wood, who only started riding speedway this year, has done so well from the reserve berth that he would have moved up to the number three slot. Eastbourne director Connor Dugard reported Wood was suffering from serious damage to the cartilage in his knee. It is preventing his knee from hinging properly so it could be a "long process" to get back to fitness. Eastbourne will use the rider replacement rule to cover his rides. Dugard has drafted Coventry Storm's Martin Knuckey into the team as a guest replacement for the injured Richie Andrews who is recovering from a broken thumb. Knuckey was a big success at Arlington when Coventry came to Arlington a fortnight ago. Eastbourne go into the second leg very much in the driving seat having won the first leg in Kent by 42-28 at the end of June. Team manager Glenn Martin agrees his charges have one foot in the final but points out a disastrous night under lights could ruin those dreams. He said: “We’ve had the upper hand so far this season against Kent but they we are taking nothing for granted. “A KO Cup final in our first year as a National League club would be a brilliant achievement and the team knows just how much this would mean to everyone at Arlington.” Martin pointed out Kent had lost by only four points in mid July at league leaders Birmingham. “We must not give Kent even a glimmer of hope that they can back into this tie,” Martin warned. Mattie Bates drops to reserve.
stevec
Strange that there is no mention of Kelsey's return! Maybe they want to keep it low key.
steven101
Yep keep it low key, nice easy return against kent who have been known to have a weak bottom end he will ride against thier numbers 2,3,5,6,7 should score loads and hopefully get some confidence back in himself. Bring on saturday night!
catinthehat
I think if the track is watered right on a Saturday night with it also being a cooler the grip might stay in the track longer so a chance of the track record will go but the question is who will get it? Shanes, Morley or even Ayres? BWD or Owen possible Hopwood.
Sings4Speedway
Cant really look far past ht 1 for a potential record so either Morley or BWD. Depends if one can get out the gate and go. Other than these two I might have tipped Woody but obviously not available.
catinthehat
The Track record this year has gone to Owen and Woods in each of the seconds rides. Must mean they have the bikes set up for just a little bit of grip but not too much grip for heat 1. lets see what happens.
teaboy279
I compiled the 10 fastest times around kent the other night. And our record was set in heat 10! (Beating the record set in heat 1) So Heat 1 not always fastest. What is arly nl lap record btw? Edited August 1, 2015 by teaboy279
catinthehat
After Strudwick puts in the speedway star he has no opponents to ride against. Tonight turns out to be a good second half with 4 riders in the 500 class. Niall runs a last in all the races which even included a slow tumble. He is not good at the media thing. Mouth shut talking on the track. Gary Cottham did well wining all his races including beating Niall Edited August 2, 2015 by catinthehat
TurnTwo
59.7 Marc Owen I believe Also KOC Glory?!
Hunters
Good to see they are giving Gary Cottham a run on Sunday instead of Richard Andrews R/R. I suspect this is preparation for next year. Whatever the points limit next year we will have to shed a lot so I can see Cottham and Powell at reserve and Wood and Dugard joining BWD in the main team. This will probably only leave about 7 to 13 points for the last two dependent on where the limit is set between 36 and 42. It could be a tough season. Bradley is really expensive at around 10.5 and makes us too top heavy. Of course we all want to watch him so will have to settle for enjoying him and having the team struggle a bit.
