stevec
both those riders have proved their worth! - what about mason though - i recall seeign him arrive the latest out of the whole team and lives 4 mile away Could that not simply be a case of him not needing to allow as much time for error in his journey? Seriously, I don't quite get the Mason bashing. They guy obviously has some sort of health issue and I am sure if it is on going something will be done. When he rode he did a good job for us and I am sure he is invaluable in the pits..

catinthehat
Just heard on the speedway jungle drums, that perks is on his way home, Scunthorpe have dropped him means he can ride at Buxton at the weekend but the other problem being the weather is not very good to Cradley have made sure that he stays till he gets an average which would be after Buxton if not its another 2 Weeks later, the poor kid seems to be at his end and it looks like he is being held here until he meets Cradley criteria, also means that because he is not going to ride they can replace him with like for like just over a 6 point average? rules and regs, but Cradley are playing the rule book to there advantage, Maybe its all pie in the Sky but the drums are banging hard this morning. #rulebending. Sings4Speedway
Shame if he is on his way home (even with the strops and ego) too much pressure too young? Heck of a lot of hype last year (eclipsed by that of BWD this year) but one has people around him to keep him grounded and one doesn't. TurnTwo
seeing him turn left on georgie i think was the point at which i said i couldnt watch him and i was waiting to her an annoucenment that georgie had killed perks lol
catinthehat
Looks like perks is not even at Buxton now ? Cradley Heathens 1. Max Clegg 2. Arron Mogridge 3. Matt Williamson 4. Luke Harris TBC 5. Nathan Greaves R/R 6. Michael Neale 7. Tyler Govier Team Manager Will Pottinger ? so does that mean in a year if he was to come to the Uk he comes in on a 3 points but if he is on a 6 points plus would be a big gamble, BWD was a 5 pointer and people said that was a going to be big boots to fill. Well maybe its all speculation and its not what i thought, lets see how it all happens, good luck to the young man as he seems to be a nice guy when ever i talked to him at Kent last year. Scunthorpe Fluid Air Power Ltd Scorpions1 Josh Auty 8.09 (capt)2 R/R (David Howe injured) 7.413 Nike Lunna 5.004 Carl Wilkinson 5.645 Theo Pijper 7.456 Ellis perks (guest if not fit) If he is not fit how can he ride for Cradley ?7 Alex Davies 4.17Team Manager Dave Peet Ok islander how does this work out whats the rules on Perks can he just leave the PL and take on the NL unless he has been dropped by scunthopre as its would be unfair on Buxton and Kent and kings lynn who will struggle this year? or will it be a 28 day ban? so many rules. stevec
How does this all affect Eastbourne? Or are we suggesting we sign him?
Sings4Speedway
Other way round. BWD has the Dugard clan around him to keep him grounded and occupied in his down time. Not sure who Perks has over here but he is not at Chez Verge this season.
catinthehat
It affects all of the teams in the NL if they use a false average as it is at the moment which is 6.67 rather then his 3 points at the start of the season would me if someone like BWD who had an assessed 5 point average could have done a hand full of meetings for Perks? which would be unfair on anybody that rode against them, but if its true and Perks was going home then would anybody want him back on a 6.67 Perks would be better if he looked at his future and went home with a 3 point would make him more valuable in future years? but what ever he does will be wrong he be better getting some help. oh i see, i did notice that he was with the Verge family last year at Kent and i did see him mechanic for him on some away meetings. Shame if he goes home he wont get another ride here with 6.67 average? Not looking good for him

TurnTwo
MARTIN CONNOR IF YOURE READING THIS DO NOT SIGN HIM
Sings4Speedway
He's already signed to Cradley. In the unlikely event that Eastbourne did want to sign him he would have to quit Cradley, serve a 28 day ban for with holding his services and then sign. Either way its all pie in the sky. If he goes home just shows he never cared about the NL and it was PL or bust. Fingers crossed his new sponsored equipment is offer to an up and coming Brit who appreciates it..... Alex2000
From what I have read it doesn't sound like perks has the right mannerisms for speedway. Acts like a child and has made a twit of himself by the look of it. The admin changed a word in my post
Islander15
If, and it's a big if, Perks went home without riding another meeting Cradley would only have 3.00 points to replace him with and Perks would still be a 3.00 if he returned this year or another year, as he has not done enough (4 league) for a new average. If he was to quit Scunthorpe, he could still ride for Cradley. Similarly if he's sacked he still could. There's no rule stopping him doing NL only either. Sings4kings you mention a 28 day ban but that would be for withholding his services, like refusing to ride a meeting as he's elsewhere, as opposed to quitting the club altogether. At the end of the day, that'd be Perks' own choice. It seems strange that he'll even be at Buxton on Sunday but there isn't enough time for him to ride in that meeting and then get to Newcastle, so I suspect he'll be using the track to check his fitness before the meeting?? Also I think his dad is over here with him, but I'm not sure. Edited May 1, 2015 by Islander15
MattJ81
From what I have read it doesn't sound like perks has the right mannerisms for speedway. Acts like a child and has made a twit of himself by the look of it. The admin changed a word in my post To be fair to him though, he is only a few weeks from being a child. Only turned 18 recently, I don't know of his racing history but it wouldn't surprise me if this is the most pressure he has been under as a rider and he has had a bad couple of weeks compared to the flying start he made (for Cradley at least). He isn't the first and won't be the last to take a little time to settle down, if that is what is happening. I saw a very young Greg Hancock come back into the pits at Belle Vue after a race and throw a complete wobbler, throwing things around etc. It's good to have that passion, might just take some time to channel it in the right way. Learning is what the NL is all about after all. He has family with him, his Dad and also his (Great, I think) Uncle Dave - both of whom have been around the sport a very long time Anyway, back to Eastbourne
