INCOGNITO
If fans want to see the likes of Woffinden Holder and Iversen ride here it would have to be on Monday's only. This however creates a problem for tracks that need to hold roughly 20 home meetings so the best answer would be to run the team with the top riders being replaced by National League rider's in a different competition. Mondays would be a possibility, though how many of the GP riders would sign up to regular schedule of GP Saturday Poland Sunday EL Monday and Sweden Tuesday. 1 valve
It has to be a Wednesday/Thursday option. Fridays are as much as a 'no go' as weekends for the EL. Not wednesday as this would allow riders to rest and be fresh for the UK on Thursday rather than wednesday which would mean sat, sun, mon, tues wed, thurs with UK having tired riders on show. Guest
It has to be a Wednesday/Thursday option. Fridays are as much as a 'no go' as weekends for the EL. But will demands by other users of the stadiums (the rental ones) permit this? How many EL venues are actually promoter-owned?
SteveLyric2
Not wednesday as this would allow riders to rest and be fresh for the UK on Thursday rather than wednesday which would mean sat, sun, mon, tues wed, thurs with UK having tired riders on show. It would be Wednesday OR Thursday, not Wednesday and Thursday!! That would also mean NOT Mondays. Riders who ride Sat/Sun in Europe could then rest on Monday and go straight to Sweden for Tuesdays. There would need to be a choice for some of Denmark or UK on Wednesdays - but not that many!!

Doesn't matter which race night it is. If there is a chance for riders to get themselves/sponsors on SKY they will do it.

Thursday or Friday to allow all tracks to run meetings on a weekly basis rather than home or away per week. Also this should provide flexability for those tracks not promoter owned or where speedway is not the priority. Like it or not EL Speedway cannot exist if there is only one home meeting every two weeks.
Fourentee
But few weeks ago Tai was saying in press he thinks all Elite League tracks should ride on Mondays! Not necessarily the contradiction it sounds. I presume that would be Monday as a fixed night which, while not fixing the Sunday Poland/Monday UK/Tuesday Sweden roundabout would give a breather later in the week. SteveLyric2
Tai needs to get in the real world - that is the world of other GP/Polish League riders - who, just like the Boomtown Rats, 'Don't like Mondays!!!!'
Wolfsbane
If Woffinden and his like decide they can do without the income/costs/hassle of the EL it won't matter what the racenight is. Personally I'm coming to the conclusion that we'll be better off without them. The sport may well need a root & branch sort out but to benefit itself and ensure it's continuation in GB, not to pander to the whims of a select few.

He was refiring to the point that Mondays is Sky night for speedway - without considering that Thursday would be an equally attractive alternative to Mondays and assuming sky would insist on Monday night racing...but that is not the case, they only want a fixed night for scheduling purposes and one that doesnt clash with more popular sports to some degree. So Monday night clashes with Premier League footie don't matter and tonight the Darts GP starts at 7pm!!

1 valve
So Monday night clashes with Premier League footie don't matter and tonight the Darts GP starts at 7pm!! Footy and darts are primarily winter sports - so little clash with summer speedway and Sky have more than one channel.
