jenga
so, simon stead won because he was on home soil. now is the time to put this theory to bed once and for all. why dont the bspa have a number of meetings on all the pl tracks(like a mini gp series) riders will ride on all the tracks throughtout the season . the top points scorer is the champion. NO home track advantage for any rider.meeting could be rum on the race day of the club running the meeting. use sunday as an alternative race day on all occasions. .. sunday is the best for running.(more travelling fans) more revenue for the bspa and the club holding the meeting. get rid of the play off system in the pl. top team wins full stop. this will free up a good few race days that teams dont actually race .if your riders cant make it on certain dates tough. they will have plenty of opportunities to catch up on. meeting reserves not from the home club. many teams have gone a week or two without meetings, this could be the fill in meeting that keeps the fans happy and make sure there is NO break in weekly meetings. any other thoughts on this wonderful idea.

screm
so, simon stead won because he was on home soil. Granted that being on his own track must've helped, but not the sole reason IMO. Following your logic I`m sure you would agree that Workington won the PL Pairs more than once a few seasons ago because they were on their own track. They did indeed win the Pairs with Stoney and Powell at Derwent Park in 2000, but won the Fours at DP a few times!

Nice idea, but think how much problems Workington had fulfilling the fixture this season, and you want to add another to mix.

jenga
i was not moaning about simon winning it on his own track. what i was trying to suggest is that most of the top riders could take part, therefore stopping the moan about home track advantage etc. maybe the league cup or play offs could go on the back burner for 1 season. i am sure there will be enough spare dates in the season to run a gp style format.while we are at it bring back the 4tt qualifyers . keep the pais cos sumerset is a good venue and runs along with ths british gp.. its poss the only way to get rid of the homies moaning. Shadders
Somerset could easily host the PLRC, but they already have the PL pairs and it's a hell of a journey for those travelling from oop North. A central location like Sheffield is ideal until the mythical new Belle Vue Stadium is completed Edited September 24, 2014 by Shads
jenga
the new belle vue stadium will be a great choice. but ther will always be a rider who rides for bv thaeamed as having home track advantage, (riding in 2 leagues. somerset ,workington held the home track advantage in the pairs/fours and now sheff had it with the plrc. .. lets face it , charles wright could win it if it was held at somerset.(no offence to charles as he is having a greet season and could prob win it any where with the quality of riders turning up for the last one all tracjs should be given the chance to run a round of the plrc in 1 season. BangerBoy
to be fair to everyone ALL national titles should be held at neutral tracks
Bagpuss
We get this argument every year, but the bottom line is that it will be held where the BSPA can earn some money rather than at the most neutral venue. I actually think jenga's suggestion is a good one but can't see it happening unfortunately due to a packed fixture list. Might be possible over half a dozen or so rounds with some careful planning.

Total agree with you on the final sentence, the idea is a fantastic idea, but fitting it all in with an already clogged up fixture list would make it virtually impossible to fulfill all of the fixtures.
jenga
maybe someone who is far brighter than myself could look back on the 2014 season fixtures and find out exactly just how many clubs ran without fixtures in the season... the bspa gain money from the plrc, but just think how much extra cash they and the home promoters could rake in if ther was a gp style format for this event. i think this is a good idea and it only takes someone higher than god(the bspa) to try to put it together. Another advantage of a series is that the events could be held all around the country so different fans would find them more convenient to get to.
Pinny
A worky fan complaining about home track advantage 😂😂😂 I was at the 2000 pairs and the heats were cut short because the rain and track was terrible but in all honesty it should of been called off. Sure they won it there a couple of other times as well?
