Bagpuss
Anyone who actually watches Niklas Porsing can see that he has come on leaps and bounds since last year. He is still inconsistent of course but has generally done well this year.

He is still inconsistent of course but has generally done well this year. In mid season when he was scoring well, he decided to change engines and try something new. Unfortunately these did not work out as well as he wanted, and has now reverted back to them tried and trusted ones he had before. You will notice his scoring has improved of late.......... Someone else, who goes very quick when out in front..... Would definitely persevere with him, again next year.....
stevebrum
Poole had injuries as well. They have had to some weeks. We will agree on something one day however it is the same for both sides with the guest situation King for Ward and Nicholls for Niels. Lynn did seem to be running out of steam I think the opposite with the latter comment on the bottom line. My logic is this every team needs there second string riders to win those second string races because it takes a lot of pressure off of the heat leaders. If teams have second string riders who aren't winning second string races then there is massive pressure on the top 2 to deliver the goods in Heats 13 & 15 and tbf Lynn have had to rely a lot on that happening this season because Lambert and Porsing. were not winning those second string races. Lambert will improve I am sure of that and as I keep saying the lad is a good rider but there is no excuse for Porsing because he rode for Lynn last season and lets be honest Nicklas hasn't really improved. Yes Nick's average sais he has but then again its a bit of a lie. Of course Poole have/have had injuries leading up to the play offs. The difference is that poole have been winning and in form with RR and guests whilst the Stars run out of steam before the play offs and Niels injury. Both Porsing and Lambert have been doing there job all season long. The reason being is that the Stars went with a very strong top 3 who were built that way to score and dominate the big heats. They were designed to do the job in those big heats so the pressure on the second strings was less so. Now they are completely exposed and Bjerre and Schlein should be the ones who step up more to the plate and score big in those heats as they have all season long. Now that there is no suitable replacement for Niels the second strings are completely exposed and i think its unfair to suddenly expect them to step up and have more pressure put on them. Averages don't lie, they are what they are. Both riders have improved their averages and improved as riders. That is evident for all to see.
foreverblue
Yes neils is a loss to kings lynn but some seem to think poole losing ward is nothing. Yes poole as are in good form but they generally are this time of year which doesnt happen by accident

foreverblue
NKI is listed in the Gorzow team for the final in Poland tonight !.That must be a mistake, they often have a old teamsheet, they had ward listed in his team lastweek! I think its for rider replacement purposes Edited October 5, 2014 by foreverblue

Poole generally know how it all works come Play off time and that is being in form at the right time. This current catalogue of injuries may just put a chink in that armour. By going on and on about Iversen being out and not mentioning Ward it seems that way to me, surely one cancels the other out.

That point i agree with, and you are correct. The only difference to PERFORMANCE is that Poole are in form WITHOUT Darcy (guest or RR they have been winning). The Stars have been out of form WITH Iversen prior to the play offs and no suitable guest is just exposing them further. That is the major difference. See what you say, but NKI is far more important to Lynn than Ward is to Poole. Niels is the man, everyone turns to when the going gets tough. He's the one who set the bar at the highest. level. He gets us back into matches when we have fallen behind, He sets the example for others to follow. There's no one who could replace the value he gives to the team. By contrast, Darcy just does the unbelievable on a bike...................

Steve0
Good luck to both teams - hope it's a close affair. I still think Poole will do it but guests can be unpredictable (on both sides) so anything can still happen. I don't really mind who wins this one though.
