spin king
Wonder if Steady will call it a day now, interests outside or speeday, inteligent lad etc...wonder if he thinks enough is enough..shame if he does Bit early for him to make decisions like that, but he may well decide that enough if is enough, he has suffered some horrendous injuries over the years. But over the last 2 or 3 years he has worked terrifically hard on his fitness and that should aid him in his recovery.
Lord Lucan
Tough on Steady, tough on Sheffield as well, absolutely on fire at the moment and definitely one of the teams to beat this season, not been able to say that too often over the last couple of years? Hope Simon gets better ASAP, cant have riders of his quality lost to the sport for too long, there just aren't enough of them!!
Charlieboy
Absolutely gutted for steady, hes been terrific this season.Hope he can get back before the season ends. With all the fitness work hes put in I would be surprised if he packs in.Hopefully it will help his recovery. He could probably get some laser treatment and use an oxygen tent, like other riders have done !!!! Hope he makes a full recovery. As for the team ? I think guests at first then hopefully make a signing.Who is available ? that's the problem.Just hope we don't go r/r.We may be strong enough at home but it only takes another injury and we are in trouble. Its up to the rest of the team now to carry on as they are and try not to be affected by it.Good luck to the management team in trying to get a replacement. 2ndbendbeerhut
Hope Steady makes a full recovery and see him back soon. Will be very hard to find a replacement for a rider who quite simply is "irreplaceable" R/R in the short term but who long term? Whats this years conversion rate for EL riders going into the PL, still x1.4? If so what about Woffinden..... has a 7.03 EL ave so would convert to 9.

2ndbendbeerhut
Are you drugs fella? Who me? Just thinking out loud but stranger things have happened and what a lift it would give to Sheffield and the PL. Sheffield will be looking to the EL for the rider, so quite a bit of scope. Davey Watt hasn't got an EL club.... As Stead is No1 Sheffield will get a guest facility, no need for R/R. Yeah sorry i meant guests but on a "horses for courses" basis

tigerowl
Really gutted for Steady. He has been immense so far this season. I hope we don't resort to guests for the rest of the season and we look at a replacement (hopefully relatively short term). Korneliussen is a good shout. Possibilities include Klindt (excellent at Owlerton last year), Magnus Karlsson, Timo Lahti, Adam Skornicki, Kenni Larsen, Linus Sundstrom, What about Jason Garrity? Nowhere near Simon's average but would score well and would also leave some scope for a further team change later in the event of loss of form / further injuries? Like you say 'gutted' he's been brilliant this year and is irreplaceable at Owlerton. But think bringing Garrity in could be a sensible move as a temporary replacement until the new averages come out!
spin king
Much as I like Jason Garrity, I think if we are going to replace Steady it has to be someone who can be relied upon to score big points in most meetings, and I don't think Jason is at that level just yet. I agree going with Guests is not the answer, but to be honest who is out there that would want to do Premier League racing.

Cue Ball
Think you have to have a sub 6 point EL average to double down. Garrity? Seriously? What would be the point? Swapping a number 1 for a second string, we would better off using guests/ rider replacement. He's not known for riding big tracks, but Bridger is a free agent at present

He's not known for riding big tracks, but Bridger is a free agent at present To get Bridger we would need to buy him some new bikes, van and probably want a shed load for points money. Add to that the fact that he has and probably still has no intention of riding Premier League. Don't want to see the club breaking the bank to sign a rider.
superguest
Schlien or Watt doubling up seem to best options! But id imagine guests could work too as the rest of the team are scoring well.

Schlien is about as good as it gets. Is Watt not injured.

Didn't Schlein have a move to Peterborough blocked during the winter, unless things have changed it would be difficult to see a move to Sheffield giving the green light. It was blocked mid way through last season not the winter. Things could have changed now who knows.
Cue Ball
6.22 average for Schlein, what would that convert to? it would be awesome if we could have him, but as I said earlier think he would need a sub 6 point EL average to double down.
